Hi all Guru!

Recently gotten our humble 4rm bto @ Hougang and is looking to install air-con.

Was quoted:

$3850 (2ticks)
System 4 (Daikin inverter)
18k X 9k X 9k X 9k

$5000 (2ticks) $5600 (5ticks)
System 2 (Daikin inverter)
18k X 9k - living and one bedroom
System 2 (Daikin inverter)
12k X 9k - master bedroom and one bedroom

Can we have ur kind advices please:
On which is more feasible?
As well as are the prices reasonable?

And what's the main diff of 2ticks and 5ticks in general? The salesmen said 2 and 5 no much diff.

Thanks so much in advance!!! :)

hi,

If you seldom use all units at the same time, no need for 2 compressor.
Daikin do not have 2 ticks system 4 model, FYI.

Hi, I just went to best denki and saw europace system 4 (4tick) promo at 3399(after discount). The compressor is a mitsubishi one and cover 6year warranty. Any europac user out there. I don't mind buying this but would like to hear user review out there

Just stick to Panasonic, Daikin, Mistubishi electric....do regikar maintainence that reflects your use. Eg at least 4 times a year general cleaning if daily 10hr use esp if dusty environments like beside the main road.

Btw it is also a must to do condenser coil cleaning whenever you have the chance, be it pro or DIY. Reduces head pressure and all those things. If got budget and dont mind AC not surviving past 7 yrs 10 yrs then not an issue.

Got Cold Engine to do a normal Daikin system3 + compressor (was quoted $2950 with all the piping/insulation bells and whistles) for a 4-room at Sengkang. They gave me next to zero trouble, which was nice.

They should pay us for the consistent praise we give them here :D

Care to share why? Must of my friends who had their house done up recommend going to gain city.

ermm with gain city it is like playing lottery, if u get a good installer, kudos! lousy installer, headache years down the road.

:o

how long your friends stayed in their house? 3-4 years or more already? these problems dun surface fast or sometimes surface very fast.

just do your homework and read horrible reviews about gain city on the internet and also this thread.

Hi Bros/Sis,

May I check, usually when determining the height of the fan coil unit mounted on the wall, do we follow as per installer's advice as they told me generally they are able to position it with 2 fingers gap as allowance to ceiling.

after they open my fan coil unit's box, i went to search for the manual and it says position it as high as possible on the wall, allowing minimum of 200mm from ceiling which is 20cm?

i verbally told them to follow 200mm as per manual's guidelines.

not sure if this is the right way to go thus wanna seek some advice as they're at my place now.

Nice. Planning to go with them too. Daikin looks really attractive with the extended warranty. Just to check, does that price include the system 3 voucher promo they're currently running?
