hi knowledgeable bros

deciding between these 2:

ME Starmex (2 ticks):
MXY4A28
MSYGE10 x 3
MSYGE24

Daikin (3 ticks):
4MKS80FSG
FTKS25DVM x 3
FTKS60FVM

Originally, was intending to choose ME Starmex. However, aircon contractor recommended Daikin as there is extended warranty (extra 15months) for spare parts, easier to troubleshoot/maintain as ME Starmex is phasing out.

Daikin set costs $100 more than ME Starmex.

Which one would the experts here recommended?

I would go with starmex. Daikin although 3 tick, my utilization is not that much to make a difference.
Solely on branding, starmex seem more reliable.
Extra 15 mth warranty is ok but parts normally fail after 3 years.

A bit too high bro.
You may wish to seek a second quote to compare.

hi all,

was quoted 2.8k for new installation, ME(2 ticks) sys2, + armaflex upgrade, bracket, powerpoint covering/patching of door louvers/window hole.

all in 2.8k, on hindsight it seems a little steep? any kind souls please advise.

Daikin pricing now should be similar with Starmex.

Should be both 1/2 thickness.
But some companies practice 3/8 insulation for the discharge pipe, return pipe is 1/2.

I have some question, for the bro here. The quote I have stated:
** Free upgrade to half inch Armaflex/K-Flex Insulation for copper pipe.

However when I supervise the installation, I realised that some pipes were using the 3/8 inch pipe for the thin copper pipes which the installer mentioned is for air return.

Only 1 set of copper pipe (the thicker G22) was wrapped using the 1/2 inch insulation.

Is this a cause for concer, is this normal due to space constrain in the trunking?

Hi all Guru!

Recently gotten our humble 4rm bto @ Hougang and is looking to install air-con.

Was quoted:

$3850 (2ticks)
System 4 (Daikin inverter)
18k X 9k X 9k X 9k

$5000 (2ticks) $5600 (5ticks)
System 2 (Daikin inverter)
18k X 9k - living and one bedroom
System 2 (Daikin inverter)
12k X 9k - master bedroom and one bedroom

Can we have ur kind advices please:
On which is more feasible?
As well as are the prices reasonable?

And what's the main diff of 2ticks and 5ticks in general? The salesmen said 2 and 5 no much diff.

Thanks so much in advance!!! (:

hi,

If you seldom use all units at the same time, no need for 2 compressor.
Daikin do not have 2 ticks system 4 model, FYI.

Hi, I just went to best denki and saw europace system 4 (4tick) promo at 3399(after discount). The compressor is a mitsubishi one and cover 6year warranty. Any europac user out there. I don't mind buying this but would like to hear user review out there

Just stick to Panasonic, Daikin, Mistubishi electric....do regikar maintainence that reflects your use. Eg at least 4 times a year general cleaning if daily 10hr use esp if dusty environments like beside the main road.

Btw it is also a must to do condenser coil cleaning whenever you have the chance, be it pro or DIY. Reduces head pressure and all those things. If got budget and dont mind AC not surviving past 7 yrs 10 yrs then not an issue.
