Sharing of my 4-rm BTO flat renovation

Just wanted to post a thread to share a little on my 4-room BTO flat renovation, hopefully this would be useful to people here.

Same as most of the forumers here, I compared several quotes against contractors with Interior Designers and finally decided to go with a ID company after deep consideration; which is via my wife colleague friend.

Many shared about the PROS and CONS of contractors and ID. Of course, ID take the % margin mark up in between the contractors. However, I advise to consult a few of them on their quotation and the quality/service they can provide

Just to list some of the stuffs I did:

- Kitchen – Top and bottom cabinets with iQuartz table top with soft closing hinge and internal color PVC, tempered glass backing, dish rack with blum, Cabinet base, Swing door, labour installation, added some extension of the wall to make my kitchen longer

- Living hall – Bomb shelter shoe cabinets ~ 9FT, feature wall, tv console, false ceiling cove light, boxing up of aircon piping

- MBR – Sliding aluminium frame with glass door, mirror cabinets, L box

- Common bedroom – just 1 swing wardrobe ~5FT

- Master toilet – Overlay tiles wall & floor together with installation of vanity cabinets and toilet accessories, shower kerb, glass swing door, Install new PD door

- Common bedroom toilet – tempered glass, shower kerb etc

- Tiling works for living hall and bedrooms

- Electrical works whole house

- Painting whole house

After confirmation of my ID design, right now my false ceiling is up and tiling work is completed, I will update this thread as we go on the designs and stages of completion:

Picture of my living hall with false ceiling, chose the tiles from Hafary the showroom at Ubi there together with ID

Clearer look of tiles

Portion where the kitchen length gets extended:

Toilet tiles from Hafary done halfway:

I will try my best to update this thread regularly, next up is for carpentry works for my kitchen cabinets!

Nice looking. But your false ceiling seems to be blocking future airflow into your fcu unit. Look very close.

Updated on project completion images

Kitchen

Quartz table top with Mayer stove and hood, basin from Blanco purchased from Hoe Kee. Top and bottom cabinets with internal PVC

The other side of the kitchen - for my refrigerator, built in oven and microwave cut out space. A small 40cm space for perhaps some cooking preparation and a lid to keep my cups.

Conceal of bomb shelter with shoe cabinets

Estimated 9 feet full height shoes cabinets with Bomb shelter feature wall and laminate finish. Compliment with a cut out with 2 plugs for charging of phones and putting of daily necessities before leaving house

TV Feature wall

Feature wall tiles from Hafary, approximately 6 fit tv console with a 49" LG television

Dining area

Lightings from Taobao, to compliment wood type of dining table that will deliver next week. Installed a Fino 2 fan for a nicer looking wall fan

Master Bedroom

Sliding wardrobe with internal PVC, one side of it installed with mirror. Mirror dressing tables on both sides of the wall for the Man and Woman.

Today just went over new house to take a look.

Brick wall design on feature wall has been completed!

Because of the design of HDB where my kitchen door switch cannot accessed with a kitchen swing door, ID has to shift it away:

Base for cabinets have also been done!

I would say works of ID is pretty quick, given work started on end-March with tiling works started first.

Really looking forward to next phase of start of carpentry works!

It's about 1.5k, for the full feature wall all the way up the ceiling.

If keen I can introduce you to my ID if you need. Cheers!

What I mean is the length of this TV wall?

$1.5K is not bad price, a figure I've guessed thereabouts too. But I'm not planning on feature wall, just wallpaper

Keep the updates going! Watching this space.

Just curious, noticed that you mentioned the ID and you went shopping for tiles at hafary - did you choose the place yourself or ID recommend and who did the installation?

Can I also check regarding air con did you buy on your own or through ID?

Thanks!

Not afraid that brick wall will be hard to clean and become dust magnet?

Hello!

Yes, the ID brought us to Hafary at Ubi (the largest showroom) - we were overwhelmed with the hell lot of tiles. There's ranging from cheap to expensive ones.

We ended up with tiles that we like and it was within her installation budget when she quoted us the tiling price. We opted out of HDB tiles, and also did overlay for our master bedroom toilet!

For aircon, I bought from outside! Not sure if its allowed to share the company here, but you can drop me a PM and I will tell you where I got it from! Hope these help!

Ahhh, sorry misinterpreted. I think it's around 3600 / 300. Estimated. I will go and measure and let you know ya!
