P4 are PASSIVE speakers - no amps.
So everything that you need to work typical passsive speakers.

@kenjikuro Both P4 and A5 has no subwoofer unless you are talking about S8.
source -> amp -> speaker

Audioengine a5 vs a5+

I have a faulty a5 used more then 2 years and was told I could change to a5+ plus another 3 years warranty for $200.

or I could just change to a normal a5 with warranty ending on 2012 july.

The upgraded list from a5 to a5+ are:
- advance tuned cabinet with rear-ported waveguide
- improved thermal management
- upgraded speaker connector binding posts
- remote control
- variable preamp line out
- RCA and mini-jack inputs
- new stand-mount 1/4" threaded inserts.

I am more concern on sound quality between the 2 of them
Has anyone heard the difference?

go down to cd acoustic to give it a try. both a5 and a5+ are on display

personally, do not feel much difference but if you do need the extra things, go for it.

on a side note, you can also test the aktimate

I think both has it's pros and cons... for weird reasons my room dust is pinkish...

And the dust layer is quite thick. I am like OMG... everyweek trying to clean it up which became a endless cycle.
