Basic TV Box

Complete noob to tv boxes! I am looking for a tv box that does 2 things for me:

1. Play Singapore public free-to-air channels like CNA
2. Able to read MS Power Point files and run the slides in loop

The TV we had is in an area where it can't receive signal, so I thought perhaps using TV BOX to have some public channels to watch.

Option B : if u have a spare/idling desktop PC buy a USB DVB-T2 tuner and hook up to TV?
I reviewed the $30 geniatech T230 some years back and its still serving 24/7 w/o issues ^^

Hi batuchka, thanks for the reply.

The reason I can't use a DVB-T2 tuner is because the room where the TV is has very bad reception. It has network access but bad with TV signals. Hope that make sense. I'll look at your suggestions for powerpoint.

Hmm u mentioned the area can't receive TV signals : for DVB-T2 reception you need a separate antenna (powered or passive) unlike older DVB-T (HDB rooftop antenna) or DVB-C (starhub tv point) have u tested this out? As far as i know locally every area in SG is now able to receive DVB-T2 with the right hardware/antenna ^^ Alternatively just a droid box + Toggle App solves the issue via internet connection ^^

Hi batuchka, yes, we had the antenna installed and reception is bad. I think your suggestion of using the Toggle app might just be the perfect way. Thanks again!
