Post FAQ | Local Blu ray prices VS Overseas (Why local are expensive than Amazon or Carousel)

Lately I had a discussion with one of the retailer who sell
blu ray disc as well as rent.
They themselves are also aware of sellers on Caurosel
who spoil the market.

[/url]

Even they agree that such seller on Caurosel doesn't have
censorboard license that is why they can spend cheap.
Now begs the question why local prices are around $59.90 or $55?
Interesting partial of the cost was due to the censorboard license.

That was why these sellers on Caurosel can sell cheap while
retail shops have to sell higher due to the license fee.
For those who wonder, why local blu ray cannot be $20 or so?

Rental, license fee they have to pay so they have to sell high.
Even Rida video know of this trend, they also sells individual disc
at $25 or so.

Unless somehow the censorship license fee can be lowered than
local prices could drop.

For customer like me, I try to support local retailers.

Only titles that are not sold or banned from sales than I buy from Amazon.
I hope this will help those who thinks local prices are expensive
as compare with Carousel or online.

Thanks for sharing. Censorship is a very old school thing where I think they should improvise or innovate how they do it. In today's context, it is unlikely old school where you censor then restrict ppl from watching on our our 29" crt TV. Today is the internet world. Why not help these retailers by removing all these added cost? YouTube, China, netflix so much content... Why not spend time during some other things?

Same sentiment but that is up how IMDA want to regulate.
With internet age, why there is still old fashion censorship?
All these added cost to local medias sold while in fact people could
get it from other sources.

Thus killing CD in a way so how long retailers can stay afloat
remains a question.
Anyway just sharing in case, if anyone wonder why blu ray
can't be $20.

Locally? Rent is the best way but these titles are not out yet.
