just to throw in my two cents

room acoustics are important, no doubt BUT any installer worth his salt will be able to advise you on
- said room acoustics
- use the built in DSP on modern receivers to mitigate most acoustic challenges faced.

also shoutout to @petetherock has given tonnes of great advice and experiences that have come from his journey. kudos to him man.
Thanks, I think TS has left the building.. and I'm sure if TS got anything in the end..
I'll just summarise:

- you decide how deep is your pocket
- how deep or involved do you want to be
- you can get a nice system for less if you are willing to in a lot of time and effort to audition, to calibrate or spend more and get some one else to do it
- a real hobbyist goes through many speakers and it's a process of trial and error, but that's the fun
