Owner vs Occupier in BTO

I have bought a BTO under single scheme.
I waiting for key in 2 years time.
Now i decided to marry a foreigner and will have a child.
Is it compulsory to include them as occupier?
Can I choose not to? Or dont update my marital status. What will happen?

Yes, you will need to add the foreigner as your occupier (child as well). My hubby is a foreigner and I was required to add that in for my BTO . Btw, If u marry in Singapore, how could you dont declare your marital status? Systems are linked..... unless your marriage is registered overseas and a manual update to govt is required

Anyway, including their name as occupier doesnt affect anythg.. as they are not the owner of the house.. If im not wrong, if u include ur child name( Singaporean), you can ask for topup of full grant.. pls double check with hdb..

If you marry before collecting the keys, they would confirm your particulars and status. If after, they would not know or bother with your affairs. You decide the needs in putting their names as occupiers.

My relative flat got replaced with new flat. Only then, hdb found out that he has married since after getting the first flat. For the replacement flat, hdb insisted that the wife (a foreigner) be included as occupier or he forgo the replacement flat.

Just curious... can the proposed occupier be an owner of a private property?

I owner of a HDB flat and I am not allowed to be occupier of another hdb flat when I subletted my own hdb. Even changing my NRIC address to the second flat, I am treated as a non-resident when I purchase car season parking.

if you intend to marry foreigner, you need to ask MOM for approval if she's working or have worked here previously

Like TS case... if proposed spouse already owns a private property.

Actually.. the real question is.. at key collection stage, does HDB verify that buyer status is similar to S&P stage?

For those of you who know nothing much, stop providing the wrong info.

First of all, for the Occupier which is often mentioned, in HDB term, it is the Essential Occupier, which is a family member who forms a family nucleus with the applicant to qualify for a flat from HDB.

Since TS applied for a flat under the single scheme, there is no requirement for other essential occupiers. Therefore, after getting married, THERE IS NO NEED to add the spouse nor future child to the list. Even if the spouse owns a private property, it will not have any impact.

So is the hdb going check upon collection of the key? Because i ask hdb officer say must add them as occupier.

Occupier got 2 types - essential occupier and authorised occupier. 1st one must be in but second can keep quiet. Like my case, my child not included as occupier.
