I have 1 day free in hk and thought of popping over to China to look. So do you recommend futian or shenzhen? Or somewhere else? Also do we need visa for China? Hk sim cannot be used there right?

Singaporean don't need visa.

HK SIM can be used but considered roaming.

just came back. you should go futian, just one stop after the HK West Kowloon. from there, there are many big and affordable shopping centers.
HK to Futian is 13mins (excluding immigration). about HKD77

The terminal at Guangzhou is Guangzhou South Station, which is actually in Panyu district, so for those heading to Foshan next, it is convenient. Guangzhou metro lines 2 and 7 meet at this station as well. There are also provincial bus service connections.
Any good shopping district around there?

Or better to take metro to other areas explore?

I missed the train, the immigration took too long. They told me I cannot change the time and I have to buy a new ticket. Can I get a refund for the original ticket?

Maybe can double check at the ticket counter, should be able to re-timing....ever do so when I was in Haikou 3 years ago, maybe the rule has been changed

You didn't ask them? According to website ticketing counter processes refund. Didn't say anything on t&c of refund.

How long before departure did you arrive at the station?
