Hey guys I'm very keen to purchase a mac book in HK simply bcos its cheaper there Besides buying from Apple retail store are there any other place that might give a small discount.
Appreciate yr tots on this. Thks!
I just came back from Hong Kong last week. I went there for 1 week together with 4 friends so we thought that we could share a prepaid card there so we can all call home to Singapore at a cheap rate. We bought a prepaid card for HKD68 and it contains HKD76 value to use for calling. IDD rates to call back to Singapore is free and call time is charged at HKD0.25 per minute. Local calls are also charged at HKD0.25 per minute. The problem is, after 1 week of calling home by 4 people, we're still left with approximated HKD60 call value unused (I can't check the value now that I'm back). I think it's a really cheap way to call back to Singapore if you are staying for more than a few days. I'm looking to sell off this prepaid card cheap to someone who have better use for it than me, so if anyone is going to HK for a trip, please PM me to buy my prepaid card. Thanks!
*Prepaid card sold, thanks!
i looked thru the website, there are 2 types of unlimited pass. what's the difference and which one is the best value? i'm staying at tst and might be travelling to hk and new territories.
MTR Mongkok to MTR Tung Chung station takes about how long on average?
I want to find out which "Brand" of prepaid card did you get? Cos my prepaid card cannot call back to Singapore.
the main computer shop area is in sham shui po. Otherwise you can try the Mongkok computer centre or the shopping mall at causeway bay - top few floors(where toysrus is located).
are the shops in sham shui po a reliable place to patronize?
Can bring back, but do remember the price difference not that great (about 7% due to GST here) but most lappy warrenty cannot cover other countries. So if *touchwood* then troublesome.hmm... buy lappy in hk can bring back?

Anyone knows how to travel from Macau Intl Airport to Hong Kong YMCA? How much does it costs for the transport? What the cheapest mode? Sorry being noob coz first time to Hong Kong from Macau.
dude, that's a tiring way to travel... but anws...
1st, You need to get to the HK/Macau Ferry terminal (Gang Ao Ma Tou)
by cab it's around HKD 60, 10mins
(best if you prepare some small change, it can be a headache if the driver returns you change in Macau dollar)
2nd, Buy a ferry ticket to Kowloon (not HK Island)
ticket is around HKD140, 1hr (night tickets are around HKD170)
3rd, Prepare a map, the YMCA is within walking distance (15mins)
Alternatively, take a cab, it's around HKD 20, 5mins
Total around HKD 220, around S$ 40, hope it helps! cheers!
Thanks for ur info. I will be staying in Macau hotel one night so dunno whether they got provide ferry service from airport to hotel and from hotel to the harbour? U sure is about 15 mins to YMCA Intl House from harbour? So near? How about is there any MTR or bus from harbour to YMCA?
there's a difference of about $200 between cathay airlines & jetstar asia for e same duration.
is there any other reason other than one being budget? issit due to more flight times
available from cathay or other reasons? i was kinda shocked to see dec e public holiday
earliest flight on cathay fully booked alridi. another thing if we book e tix now, in future
if e oil price carry on go up, we'll not be charged extra right? sorry i also noob going HK.
