Hong Kong / Macau trip in Dec

Hi,

I am planning to go Hong Kong and Macau with my boyfriend in Dec this yr. I know HK will be very cold. However, is it cold till we need to wear Longjohn?

Do u think is safe to travel by the ferry from HK to macau in this kind of cold weather?

In Macau, what is nice to visit and one should not miss? I planning to stay in Sintra or Casa Real for one night in Macau. Is this hotel near to the Macau's Fisherman's wharf? Which of these 2 hotels will u all recommend?

In HongKong, heard that all shopping are selling winter clothing and Boots. How about those Temple Street, Ladies Street, what will they sell in Dec period?

I have been to the Peak and Ocean PArk. I decided to give these 2 a miss this time round. In HK, which places are recommended to go. I have been to HK in July 4yrs ago when the weather is humid and hot.

1. depends on how well you can adapt to cold. this year quite cold dropping to around 10 degrees. the winter wear clothes sold out in a lot of places in hk.

2. ferry between macau and hk generally safe. on occasions the sea can get rough.

3. dec can find other clothing but not easy. you can try sham shui po for the clothes as well. but these places don't have good quality.

4. i still enjoy looking at the hk skyline after so many trips over the years. love the walk along the esplanade.
try the bus ride in hk side to Stanley. quite fun for me like it better than the destination.
go to one of the islands Cheung Chau, Lamma, Lantau etc for a different experience.

Hi,

I was in Macau last week and stayed at Casa Real Hotel. In my opinion, the hotel's is clean and well-maintained. Location is good as well. It is just opposite Fisherman's wharf (use overhead bridge) and is within walking distance of Sands Casino (use underpass). It is also very near to the Ferry terminal. Hotel has shuttle buses running from 10am to 9pm between the ferry terminal and Customs.

If you plan to go to Sands Casino, do take their transport from the ferry terminal or customs. Passengers get a free spin at the jackpot machine located on level 1. My friend did and won a gold-plated card calendar. Not a big deal but still a cool souvenir to walk away with. While you are there, you can also apply for a free membership card (will requrie your passport) which you can accumulate points with when you play at the casino. Also entitles you to discounts when you dine at the casino.

Hi all,

Heard that Ocean park got different things to see every season. Is it true? I have visited in yr 2004 July. Besides the 2 Panda, is there any changes to Ocean Park which is worth for me to visit a 2nd time in Dec?
