while initially i thot sharp tv is going dead until i saw those major big china programs...advertising/product placement with the latest Sharp 4K UHD TV...which then led me to think...r they reentering into the tv mkt again starting from china?....

As you may know, Sharps already bought over by Taiwanese company Foxcomm. Their TV is basically dead. Their focusing area is now marking LCD panel for smaller devices eg for handphone.

Brand like Sony, Sharp and even Panasonic reenter market by using OEM panel and manufacturing facility. One good example is Panasonic into OLED TV. Is not a suprise as number of their series are using same panel as LG.

Think the new maker also bought the name over just like ThinkPad from Lenovo.

where to buy?

This is the main reason I chose to buy Sony 55x8500E this month. Not top of range but decent to let me watch tv and youtube at value price. This tv has good picture quality. I had thought of buying LG 55UK7500PTA at $2299 but I decided to buy this tv instead.
Hi, I'm considering Sony 55x8500E and LG 55UK7500PTA too. Thanks for a good reason to differentiate them.

Where did you buy Sony 55x8500E? How much? I only saw 55x8500F in stores, around $2699, more expensive than LG 55UK7500PTA liao.

Now, you are unlikely to find any sony 55x8500E tv (2017 model) at $2,388 from best denki maybe no more stock. The new model 55x8500F (2018 model) is a good choice and new series always comes with expensive price tag. You can search and ask all leading stores for this E series.

take a look here for the models but you cannot buy directly as there is custom control in China on electronics like door bells, mobile phones and tvs. Look at this link https://s.taobao.com/search?q=4k%E7%...tton&catId=100

Or else I very much wanted to buy the best possible tvs from the dealers there.

You dont get DVBT2 tunner for use in singapore anyway. No point to get directly from China.

QLED vs OLED vs MicroLED are like fanboys war.

Grabbing my popcorn while reading the comments in all the Samsung QLED YouTube videos. So much more interesting than watching those Mandarin-dubbed Taiwanese mega long-episodes family drama show.

Personally, I am more inclined to QLED. Do not have to be paranoid about the channel logos creating burn-ins on the OLED display. With Samsung's 2018 QLED technology, the differences between QLED and OLED is getting smaller.

Hopefully microLED technology can take off and be implemented on smaller display sizes and be more affordable to the masses within the next 5 years. Fingers crossed.
