Happy 2017 to fellow digital TV explorers here. So this means Channel U will be in HD this year.

Hi all, I am already watching channel 5 HD but recently there is this scrolling message appearing occasionally that says must switch channel before Feb 2017. I went to the MediaCorp link but it did not mention anything concerning this.
Anyone knows what is this about? I'm already on hd channel so why still need to switch?

U were probably tuning in to the DVB-T version of the channel.

The broadcast for the DVB-T version will cease on 1 March 2017.

Thanks Kiwi Just wondering do you know what is the right frequency or channel for channel 5 hd then? Will re-tuning all channels work better?

U first got to check whether your tuner supports DVB-T2 or not.

The frequencies for the various DVB-T2 channels are on post 3 of this thread.

Frequency for Channel 5 HD is 538.000mhz.

Is there an antenna that is more popular model and works mostly for many people?

It seems like many different antenna are mentioned and depends on luck to see if it works.

I am living in Sengkang, 7 years old tv, no cable, only watch free channels.

Get a cheap one first. Can get from carousell with a set top box. Had gotten mine there, works ok. If you keen I can pm the seller user ID.

can get qoo10 for about $25 with antenna.

qoo10 is a safer place compared to carousell.

Yeah, normally thats the case but when I was buying my box there was some negative feedbacks in the qoo10 thread about seller sin**. So decided to get mine from carousell. Maybe got lucky.
