saw a few DVB-T2 set top boxes on qoo10. Really cheap. But way too many models. Does anyone have any model to recommend? Or are they more or less the same

My reply in bold.

http://www.lg.com/sg/tvs/lg-43UF640T

Broadcasting System
Digital TV Reception Yes
Terrestrial DVB-T2

Does this mean the TV has digital decoder built-in and only need to buy an antenna? Yes

Where to buy an antenna?
Harvey Norman, Courts, Best Denki, NTUC Xtra, Gaint, etc.

Hi I currently have 2 TV and was wondering if either or both of them are digital TV ready?

1) Samsung UA55F6400
2) Samsung UA40F5500

Assuming if either or both are, does it means I just have to buy the antenna?

How would I know if the above 2 are "ready"???

Sorry for noobness..
Check the specs of the TV manual or manufacturer's website. Best to email them directly if still unclear.

If you're referring to those MIC (made in China) STB then more or less these models are similar, the main different is whether they come with more output ports or has power supply built-in.

Qoo10 or Taobao. Same models selling on both site.
Lowest price on Qoo10 $19.80 + $4.80 delivery.
Model K2 with 2 pin plug.
Does not come with HDMI Cable or Antenna.
Optional to add-on.

HDMI and RCA (Yellow/Red/White) output.

Any STB that is under $30 should work the same.
Different models usually has additional output, which nobody use now (Red/Blue/Green/Yellow/Red/White).

Outlook is usually USB position and additional buttons (Volume/Channel).

Power cord. Some is fixed. Cannot replace easily. Some is those single round pin type (like PSP charger or some laptop charger). Some is with 2 pin connector, those usually on old FM radio or cassette player.

I think some programs cannot be found in toggle, like the senior citizens singing contest (not sure what is the show name).

In addition, she's not tech savvy, she might find some difficulties accessing toggle and finding her shows

Any DVB-T2 recordable set top box to recommend?
Ask your mom to continue using miotv but if she wants to save on subscription fees than she needs to be tech savvy. Majority of the DVB-T2 set-top boxes can recording to external thumbdrive, but drive size is a limitation.

I bought my TVB-T2 receiver from this: https://carousell.com/p/44221096/

Watching HD TV program is fine. However, recorded program playback sometimes hang/skip.

I am using the Funke 5.1 Combo antenna with USB power.

So what is the issue?

What type of storage device? Best to use thumbdrive and format to FAT32.

BTW, is this a new item? Price seem kind high as compared to those selling in Qoo10.

Why bother to buy Dvbt2 set top box to receiver mediacorp content and with the indoor antenna may or may not receive? Just buy a dvbc set top box connect to scv point and you will get the channel...
