The one selling for $68 could actually be a similar model to the $20+ one on qoo10.
Since i gt the redemption letter mus use ma. Get direct STB from 4shops or IMDA. Nw still deciding. If buy from qoo10, sway siao nt compatible, reception NG etc, no warranty too rite?
I think the STB can use port HD for recording cos norm thumbdrv only 32/64gb can record hw long? Port HD ez 2-5TB in market nw.

You mean those available on Qoo10? There were some negative feedback on the earlier pages. Some mentioned that the T1 and T2 specifications does not met with Mediacorp's standard, some mentioned that the reception no good. I am also wondering if it can do recording, if so, can it be viewed on a PC? Some mentioned that some models can, but I am not sure which model is that?

Anyway, the more I read, the more I am confused. If buying from China, do you have any recommendation? Sorry for being a noob and thank you for the help.
Get it from Qoo10 and use their qpoints and coupon to offset, I got my K2 and K3 STB from there. Go for seller that states their STB support Mediacorp. As for reception, it has more to do with the area you're located and type of antenna used. Recording (PVR) feature are standard nowadays, those China-made one can be playback on PC whilst those IMDA approved one cannot!

Seller is from Sim Lim tower.
I don't understand the difference between K2 and K3,but this one marked as K2. Should I look for K3?

Local seller selling at reasonable price is always good thing when there is need to claim warranty.

As for the differences, refer to this review.

Yup. Definitely cos old recorder can only use analog signal for recording. Tats y w the introduction of Digital transmission hav to use STB or paid tv STB for scheduled recording. The old recorder can throw away liao unless wana play dvd disc.

Btw for recording is using thumbdrv or port HD?
I have tried using a USB portable 500Gb HDD which i bought like 8 years ago and its working fine

Hi all, my tv is Samsung UA46F5500AMXXS. Called to digital tv hotline, customer service said our tv does not have digital function, and we tried to confirm that it does not have. And we r PR, we does not eligible to haVe 100 dollars voucher. So, besides to buy a new tv, the only way is buy an antenna costs about 100 dollars in one of the four electrical shop?

Please read the DTV thread for the requirements:
You need a set top box and an antenna.
Total cost will be lower than $100.
See our sales section for people selling their stuff for example.

You can get a new dvb-t2 box on qoo10. I got it a few years ago at around $20 for the box. Antenna is optional, if you are using antenna now, you can reuse it. You need antenna only if your tv is connected to the MATV ( the wall antenna port connected to hdb rooftop).

Won't cost $100 So expensive.

I'm using the one by New Media Solutions (IMDA), but i guess as long as the USB port has enough power to support your portable HDD then should be alright.
