hehe Geylang hope wont get interference during Worldcup
Aerial signals are not meant to be interfered or jammed. The TV broadcasters can sue those responsible, through international organisations if offender is in other countries.

Anyway, I hope I can receive the signals in the north area.... not successful so far.

Units in East Coast area facing Batam ,like in Marine Parade, with a good outdoor antenna, should have no problem.

If MDA knows abt the Indo chs, will they request mediacorp to duplicate the mediacorp chs on these Indo frequencies? I suggest discuss it via PM.... Tks.

There are 2 kind of antenna bundle with the draco box, the round one ant130 and the rectangular ant600. Which one is better, in my case I happen to have both, I found that the ant130 round one has better consistency in reception. On paper the spec are similar except the ant600 has higher gain.

Just to add my two cents, after talking to a reliable source, which I would not want to disclose.

Some of the things I heard:

Reception via rooftop antenna for HDB may not work for all blocks with the rooftop antenna as some blocks have a frequency filter. The existence of said filter is disputed by some users here as I understand it, but I can't prove further without revealing my source. The supposedly "good" thing about this filter is that it levels off the varying signal strengths of the different channels to avoid excessive overlap between channels. What is not good about it however, is that it blocks digital signals and a number of foreign channels as well. My source actually said the filter was implemented to stop people from complaining why a neighbour has a certain foreign channel and he or she can't. Unfortunate, but they chose to block it for everyone rather than try their best to accommodate. Censorship may also have a certain role in this.

The other issue of why IDA/MDA refuses to acknowledge that the HDB rooftop antenna can indeed be used for DVB-T2 is that HDB intends to stop paying contractors to maintain the rooftop antennas after 2016 when analog is switched off. HDB actually has to pay maintenance fees every year, and by 2016, what may happen is that all existing rooftop antennas will be decommissioned in stages. This will of course save HDB money. Best case scenario is that the rooftop antenna systems will be left alone till they start to wear and break down beyond 2016, worst case is that they physically remove the antenna systems.

It is also said that signal power output for DVB-T2 will only reach its full strength in 2016 as Mediacorp has limited it for now to avoid interfering with analog signals. This is separate from the localised town deployment they are doing for indoor coverage.
