which means DVB-T2 will replace DVB-T by 2014 while analogue will continue till 2020~? all those using DVB-T standalone STB or usb digital tuner will become obsolete~

Free-to-air TV channels to go digital from end-2013 - 19Jun2012 - YouTube

u mean mediacorp channels over set-top box?
i think last year news already announced.
but i think a bit duplicated with starhub... starhub also got 8-on-demand already... can watch mcs drama in HD.
starhub's catch-up and on-demand services are good... plus hubstation's time-shift function... quite used to this new style of watching tv.
OTT services not limited to set-top box. You can have it on STB, Smart TV, PC, Android, iOS. At least that's what I understand.

i think the trial over already... anyway most of our tv can't support dvb-t2.
for those using starhub set-top box... we are not affected as all sh channels are digital already... but that's not dvb.
I see. I thought of looking for DVB-T2 compatible tv tuner. My new place, only the SD channel can receive correctly through internal antenna. The HD channels are very difficult to lock, need to play around with the antenna, not very stable also.

wtf, either force sinkies to subscribe to starhub or singtel set-top box or buy dvb-t2 receiver + antenna.
why should anyone live with ugly unsightly antenna in the living room or bedroom? Back to the 60s?
better picture quality? cmon, do sinkies really need to watch variety show in HD? The move to digital is more for extra optional paid tv services and advertising which sinkies really need?

cmon, mda/ida can't even force the telcos with a common set-top box, now forcing sinkies to subscribe to paid tv services to view free channels?
Is that why you take away tv license fee so you can put money into another pocket?
Nothing in sg is free, they just transfer from one pocket to another.
Qubicfactor and CWL84 like this.

My TV can support dvb-t2, it is Sony KDL-40EX520.

I think all Sony new TVs support dvb-t2!

DVB-T or DVB-T2?
just checked sony website... only DVB-T (1st generation) not 2nd generation.
my tv also can support 1st generation.

anyway news already said hdtv sold in singapore will have DVB-T2 built-in only after mar/apr next year. in my prev post... i said "most of our tv"... but i think should be "all of our tv" instead.

i've mentioned in my old post long time ago that i managed to recv all digital & HD channels using V-shaped antenna detached from my old 14" CRT TV.
then i bought a new indoor antenna with booster... recv nothing!

DVB-T2

You need to download sony TV manual, it say that DVB-T2 is supported.

From sony website, it mentions that DBV-T is supported only.

I see... in that case u are in luck and ready to tune to DVB-T2. But u got to make sure u have a good antenna and a good area to place the antenna to receive over-the-air signals.
