many places you can try, even those diy shop may have. most important - get a written agreement that you can return the antenna (for full refund) if it doesnt work for you.

Singapore is aiming to be at the forefront of technology, but the drive is hamstrung by Singaporeans. The bureaucrats in charge are fearful of sticking their heads too far out and to date the rollout of HD TV has been glacial.

Our current choices are Starhub and its 2 channel offering, Mediacorp's sole free to air offering of CH 5.

Both require a set top box (STB)

A STB is NOT a panacea to your viewing troubles. If you live in an area with poor reception, this will not improve your reception. If you have a lousy antennae or are too cheap to improve reception, the freebie that came with the TV will not help.

As for digital tuners in DVRs, right now there are no local choices. Buying one from another country is tricky as the tuner may not work here.

Is DVRs digital video recorders?

I'm planning to setup my vista media centre with digital tv tuner and output it with a ATI x2600 gfx card. Just thinking whether its feasible?

If i wish to watch like discovery HD or HD5, do i still need the digital STB?

I think some of the PC pros can help with a HTPC setup
You will need a STB either seperately or built into the TV or PC to get HD 5
Cheers
