I think I should throw in my 2 cents worth to make it clearer. I wrote in a year ago but no reply. wrote in again a month ago and bingo a reply. You can clearly see where this whole thing is headed from the reply.
Wah like that really must have a scheme in place to lower the cost for the antenna and boxes liao

Is the antenna for DVB-T and DVB-T2 different? because I can get existing HD5 from the HDB rooftoop antenna.

No difference. Over-the-air tv singals are tranmitted within the channels allocations in bands I/III VHF and bands IV/V UHF. HD5 is using chan 38. If the future dvb t2 programmes are transmited through chan 38, you will receive them provided you have the dvb t2 compliant tuner/set top box. Same applies to chan29 which is currently used to tranmit other MediaCorp dvb t programmes.

That's my concern too. Still remember those digital TV in the bus? The reception is so poor and finally they are all gone. vs what you see in Hong Kong. They are doing it very well.

Can try the following:
TBS5220 USB DVB T2/T Freeview HD TV Stick-Watch DVB T2/Freeview HD TV on Laptop/PC [TBS5220] - US$68.99 : BuyDVB Online Store

But do wait for their promotional discounts. There were discounts during the Halloween month and Christmas.

It will come out in due time.

But in the meantime, can also set up a HTPC and install a DVB-T2 tuner card to record programmes to watch later.

tv mobile~? the reception was quite ok overall~ the initial phase was quite bad with squeak audio distortion~ they took down bcos mediacorp unable to sustain the operation cost with little ads income~

HK one, i thought it was played back thru media or disc player~?

taiwan would be a better eg, sat in their taxi and the cabby was using a GPS with built-in dvb-t~ he was scrolling the channels, many channels to select with no loss of signal~
