Anyone know whats the difference between tcl p8m n p8s?

Source: https://en.tab-tv.com/?p=17987

I am surprised that the 50P8S is going for $699 now, while the better specs 55P8M was going for $599 previously.

Gotten the 65" dun understand why need 2 remotes
one is the black larger unwieldly remote meant for normal usage

the other smaller silver remote needs to do pairing which is meant for "netflix" but I found it smaller and convenient to use

FYI only, TCL 8K X9 QLED TV, 65inch at official retail price of RMB19999 (less than S$4000).
http://m.tcl.com/tv/2b40d8e9250d41f8ae8a092bc4a464c

Chinese Youtube review of China version 65inch X9 8k QLED review, he got it with roughly RMB14000 (less than S$2800), with the bundled Onkyo Dolby Atmos Soundbar
https://youtu.be/i4af9q1VGTM

China version, no Google Play services, but with good response (4GB RAM, 32GB storage, 2xA73+2xA53 Quad Core CPU)

Only three HDMI ports, and only one HDMI 2.1 port among the three ports, no optical audio interface.

Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos support

Play well with Xbox One S and Apple TV 4K

Not able to have Dolby Vision under Nvidia Shield TV 2019 under Netflix

8k resolution is very nice but no 8k source

Not able to decode 8k media well as per the reviewer

TCL = Televison Cant Last
Actually TCL is probably No 3 or No 2 in the global TV market in terms of volume. It is also No 1 or No 2 in the US market.

65 X9 8K QLED from China, RMB19999 or a bit less than S$4000 (reports say as low as RMB14000)
http://m.tcl.com/tv/2b40d8e9250d41f8ae8a092bc4a464cb

65 X10 4K Mini LED (Japan and EU with Android TV OS, and US with Roku), 8K model coming.

But I do not think it is a good idea to buy such expensive models from overseas without warranty.

Best from Giant Singapore, 65C8, S$1299

I still dont get the difference (panel wise) between the C8 and P8 ( is Giant ones P8M or P8S?) *Edit kum gong morning. Giant ones are P8S )

Would really tempting to buy the P8 saving the price difference for a proper sound bar.

I see. Panel wise C8 is supposedly better than P8M/P8S. It is better you go down and compare in shops.

Major difference in terms of other spec seems to be the integrated Onkyo sound in the C8 series.

Comparisons, not so sure if SG models are similar to Australia models or not

X7 – 55 and 65 inch TVs. UHD resolution with Quantum Dot elements, HDMI ports 1.4 and 2.0 standard. Color depth 10 bits (8 bits + FRC) 60 frames per second. The X7 TV is a mix of 2016-2018 models.

C8 – TVs 55, 65, 75 inches. UHD resolution with elements of Quantum Dot but worse than in the X7 series. Color depth 10 bits (8 bits + FRC) 60 frames per second. Analog of X7 but with worse screens.

P8M – 43, 50, 55, 60, 65, 70, 75.85 inches. UHD resolution. The color depth is 10 bits (8 bits + FRC) 60 frames per second, this series is distinguished by screens that are worse in technical characteristics than in C8.

P8S – 55 and 65 inches UHD resolution, analogue of P8M, 8bit color depth, 60 frames per second.

As mentioned earlier, in fact just 1 month ago, Giant was selling the 55P8M for $599 only... Take note, 55" M.

Now, the 50" S is going for $699 at Giant...

Xiaofan, thanks for the information! Appreciate it.

The p8s is really attractive for the price and it's 400+ cheaper than the c8..

What about hisense? Any feedback on their models?

I myself have low requirements for TV picture quality and TCL P8S is fine to my eyes. I am even okay with Akira, Harson and AOC TV in NTUC. In fact I am using old Toshiba and Akira TV now, both 40 inch, 1080p and not smart TV. If one of them go bad, I may well go with TCL or maybe AOC (Okay, I admit the old Akira is not that good even to my eyes).

Of course those Sony, LG and Samsung TV look better but they also cost higher.

Hisense is a decent brand, same as TCL. But it seems they have less presence than TCL here in Singapore.

I helped my relative's friend to buy a 65inch TCL 4k TV in Dec 2018 at about RMB 5000 during my short trip to China and I visited them again in Dec 2019. The friend is very satisfied with the TCL.
