I am quite unfamiliar with TCL TVs.

Was hoping to get a 75" or 65" minimum.

Anybody knows which is the best model that we can get in Singapore?

Hello everyone. I just got my 55p8m over the weekend, still trying to get the optimal viewing setting. Anyone else able to share your settings?
Below are my settings, pretty standard and not deviating too much from the original settings. The color seems vibrant and skin tone looks natural enough for my eyes.

For Netflix, YouTube and Movie:
Picture preset - Movie
Brightness settings
Brightness 70
Contrast 95
Black level 50
Dynamic contrast off
Black stretch off
Dynamic backlight off
Micro dimming off
Gamma +2

Color
Color saturation - 50
Tint - 50
Color temperature - warm
White balance - 2 points off 20 points off
Color space - auto
RGB mode - off

Clarity
Sharpness 0
Digits noise reduction off
Noise reduction off
Graduation clear off

Motion
LED motion clear off

For free to air TV channels:
Everything the same except Sharpness under clarity set to 25

If there are still stocks available for 65P8S and selling at previous selling price of $888 at Giant, it is really value for money for a 65” TV

Is 4K upscaling a necessary feature?
I’m not sure why there was mention of TCL P8M and P8S lacking of upscaling 4K upscaling feature? The 1080p contents from Netflix and YouTube look absolutely clear on my 50P8S and the 1080i contents from the free to air channels look really clear to me as well. The 720p contents look fine to me though they appear not as sharp as the 1080 contents but generally they are more than acceptable. Will try to post some pics.

When u press Settings on the remote —> choose Picture —> choose Picture preset —> then there are five modes available: standard, smart HDR, dynamic, sport, movie

Is 65P8S a better model than 65C6US-CA?

65P8S seems to have lower nits than 65C6US-CA which is important for HDR/HDR10 movies?

C6: better speakers with Harmon Kardon soundbar, brighter at 400nits, Android Nougat 8.0

P8S: newer Android Pie 9.0, lower "nits" at 300nits, targeted at emerging countries

very little difference.

Thanks. I could not see these mode cause sports mode was turn on in settings. Turning it off, the different picture preset mode settings were displayed .

Technically 65C6US is a better model than 65P8S. The 5ghz WiFi feature and the built in Harmon Kardon soundbar are good features to have. But I would mainly look at the price difference. I won’t pay additional $300 for these two features.

Honestly with a peak brightness of less than 500 nits, I don’t think there would be a noticeable difference on the HDR performance.

Okay, thanks!

Didn't look at the price difference yet.

So $888 vs $1188 (65C6US) for the 65" model now?

Not sure about the current selling price of 65C6US. The newer model 65C8 is selling at $1299 at Giant now.

Below are some of the images of <4k resolution contents from various sources:

720p from Netflix

1080p from Netflix

1080i from free to air channels

dest86 and DriftKing like this.
