Anyone here with a Sony Bravia TV able to connect to a 5G network through wifi?

I've got a 49" X80E and it works on a 2.4Ghz network just fine but when i tried connecting to the 5Ghz it gives a display no internet connection but shows as connected.

Using a the Singtel router box and it is withing 5 meter of the TV.

Thank you.

Do you have any problem with your other 5G devices' connection to internet?

If no, the problem is probably a conflict of IP within your local network.

You can verify this by

  • Check IP status of your Sony tv in the 5G using the tv
  • Log in to the admin page of the ST router from a pc >Network Configuration>DHCP Client for the list of connected devices and their IP addresses.

Anyway, to solve the problem
  • Power down ONT, router and all your connected devices
  • Wait for 30 seconds or so
  • Switch on ONT, after power and PON green LED become steady
  • Switch on router, after all LEDs become steady
  • Switch on tv and connect to 5G

If this does not solve your problem, go to

try setting your 5GHz channel in your router to the 36 - 48 range and see if it helps.
