Xiaomi TV Discussion Thread III [consolidated]

There is a new version for the Indian Market called MiTV4 PRO at the same price as ordinary MiTV4 in the previous version. Those older model might get an upgrade at a later date..

MiTV4 Pro has the same spec but can play google play and google chromecast but still does not have vp9 decoders to play 4k youtube video

Many have used other brands of soundbar and found it cannot work for MiTV. Just don't know why.. some recommended Xiaomi sound bar.. this is available for Lazada at around $150/=

Think the difference is in the soundbar. MiTV 65 has a soundbar, 75 don't have. The older 3S also has soundbar and has atmos..

taobao sale coming so....yeah buying a xiaomi tv55"

http://skyjuiceiswater.blogspot.com/...iaomi-tv4.html

According to here , the specs are pretty similar across A,C,X,S for the 55"

But was scouring Baidu that some chinese review says 4a is slightly better picture?.

Can anyone correct me if i am wrong.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
After reading many pages on this thread.
A,C Bezel is different (one glossy, one matt) - hdmi at the back
S Metal bezel - hdmi at the side
X Piano bezel - hdmi at the side
C i see picture the bezel is 0.9cm , but others never specified.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~

So the eventual decision is based on bezel and hdmi position am i corect?

Edit*
found this hope it will be useful for others later

Think it depends on when the TV was manufactured. Those manufactured in 2018 and after 4S has side connection. The older one has back connection.. 4A & 4C has a 50" model with side connection that came out after 4S.

Understand the technical specification of MiTV4 Pro is the same as other MiTV4; the Indian market are expecting a ROM update soon for the older models. From the reading materials, it would appear that the new ROM just has a Google Play assistance and said to be able to play Google Chromecast, Netflix and many others that cannot be played in present model. Just not sure MI will release the new ROM for other markets.

You mean if I buy a XiaoMi TV now, I cannot plug and play my chromecast? Or there is no in built chromecast?

Chromecast is not in-built. Setting up Chromecast requires google service and this is not available in the present ROM. However, there are many other software that can do mirror castings and one of them is the Xiaomi's screen controller... https://tinyurl.com/y8qlrpy7

Search around, there are many better sound bars available from TaoBao at even lower cost.. I have just ordered one.
