Whats your setup like?
Just ran a Speedtest using the native Speedtest app on my 2013 13" MacBook Pro with AC88U 3x3 Stream 5GHz

Phones with 2x2 stream can get 500-600mbps~

He's referring to his ac88u (living room) speed when testing in the MBR.

On 500 plan
Near router have no issues
Ac88u for whole house
Considering mesh or ap now
Biggest concern is speed achieve in mbr coz it is far from router
Yes, if all nodes are wired up and your device is connected to the nearest node.
Since you have ac88u, there is also an alternative method of connection,

ac88u ( main router ) - wired to all rooms data points
room 1 - node 1 ( aimesh mode )
room 2 - node 2 ( aimesh mode )
room 3 - node 3 ( aimesh mode )

This approach has the benefit of being able to configure wifi names in seperate frequencies.
Ok thanks for the advice
Am considering to ditch ac88u or not
Then run Lyra mesh x3

Lyra can't configure wifi names in separate freq ?

Yes, can be done but you will have to setup using the Asus router app instead.

Don't ditch AC88U, run AiMesh. It's very stable now with the latest firmware. Mine running for a month and not a single issue.

I have issue of aimesh 5g loses connection once awhile. And also, my phone tend to connect to master bedroom wifi even though I am at the living room with main router nearer to me.

Hi gurus,

I've just moved to a new place and I'm setting up my wifi as below,

Linksys EA7500 router -> Lyra Trio (set up as APs) in various rooms.

The router broadcasts a dual band network, 5GHz and 2.4GHz, whereas Lyra Trio broadcasts only 5GHz, at least from what I see in the app.

How do I set up the network such that the router and Lyra shares the same SSID so that the client will be switched over seamless as I move around the house?

Not possible. They work independently.

Lyra does provide both 2.4 and 5.0 signals. But if you have 3 nodes, you're likely going to be near one, thus connecting onto 5ghz.

You can try it. Turn off all but 1 node and go to the furthest room, you will probably be switched to 2.4ghz.

Hi everyone, need some advice.
Can I only use 1 Lyra node and connect to my Asus AC88 using Aimesh?

Do I need a min of 2 Lrya to work for Aimesh?

Thanks for any reply.

Nope. For AiMesh, you just need minimum 2 x AiMesh devices.
1 x AC88U + 1 x Lyra = 2 AiMesh devices

needs expert help.

I have an internet subscription, but would like to split into two networks (2 subnet):

a. one serving ground floor users with a wired LAN and wifi SSID; and
b. another subnet serving a separate entity at 2nd floor; linked by Lyra trio; has its own LAN and wifi SSID.

the two networks should not share resources.

can it be done by the Asus wifi router? if so how to go about it? thanks

The feature you are looking for is VLAN isolation. It is not a common feature in "home" routers

1 x AC88U + 1 x Lyra = 2 AiMesh devices

I already setup my AC88U as the main mesh and each time i try to connect a Lyra as a wireless AiMesh to it, it will not be successful.

If i try with a Ethernet cable to setup, it would work and appear as a AiMesh Node but once i remove the lan cable, the connection will just drop

AC88U - 3.0.0.4.384_81116
Lyra - 3.0.0.4.384_46054

Resolved.......had to set my 5ghz channel to Auto
Somehow when i manually assign a channel, the Lyra will not have a stable connection and always drop off
