curious isn't AC3200 better than AC86 ? that one if i'm not wrong is tri-band right ? doing a downgrade ?

setting 20, 40 or auto i think mostly depend on how congested the area you are in. for me just set it to auto, let the router do all the work
Yeah, AC3200 is tri-band. But the router is over 4 years now, recently its showing problems. Range got worst, always got lag. Even after factory reset, its the same (although it got smoothly for a few days).

Finally got myself this router as you guys mentioned. My old RT-AC3200 served me well over 4-years in service.

So far tested the range, it's really good (both 2.4ghz and 5ghz). Speed and latency is good.

May i know if you guys set 20 or 40mhz in 2.4GHz? or both in auto mode?
set to 20mhz.

other than having an additional band, ac3200 loses to the ac86u in almost all other aspects.

Thanks. I've set to 20mhz. Agreed. I rather have higher bandwidth in one single 5ghz than 2. Just now tried speed test (on wifi), able to get 800mbps.

AC86U get more bands hence better coverage?

I am using Singtel Fibre and have selected Singtel-Others as the profile.

Everything is working fine.. Can the 4th LAN port be used normally? or its reserved for Singtel TV?

Reserved for miotv if you used profile. But if you want to use all 4 ports for LAN.
Go to LAN > IPTV > select ISP profile > Manual setting.

For Internet, Lan 3 & 4. Put VID 10.
Apply and save. Feedback whether it works.

Alrights.. thanks!

Another question..

For 2.4 GHz..should i leave it at 20/40 Mhz or manually set to 20 or 40Mhz?

Likewise for 5GHZ... leave it at 20/40/80Mhz or manually set ?

If you want consistently fast speeds then fix 5GHz to 80MHz. Performance devices should will/should rarely ever use 2.4GHz and due to the range of 2.4GHz and considering all your neighbors broadcasting 2.4GHz and overlapping each other I would recommend dropping it to 20MHz and keeping it for lower powered or less bandwidth intensive devices. No point in going for the maximum performance on 2.4GHz band when all the interference will probably negate the speed gains by the time it reaches your device.

I use 20 for 2.4ghz and 80 for 5ghz.
