Guys I have the option of getting the AC88U or the AC5300 via top ups for new sign up for fibre. Not sure if the 5300 will be overkill though I believe the 5300 has very strong 5Ghz performance.
I don't think 5300 have very strong 5ghz performance, it's just 2x5ghz radios, do you have that many ac clients?

think only my PC and my phone does not sure if my PS4 would benefit from the 2.4Ghz performance though.

How do I log in to the Asus Router through the browser and/or the app? I tried admin admin and it's not working. Never logged in before.

Must the first log in be connected via LAN cable to a computer?

Thanks in advance.

Who setup the router the 1st time ? AFAIK, the new firmware forces you to change default password during initial setup.

Question ?

Can anyone advise that if I change from Asus firmware version 3.0.0.4.380.3341 to Merlin Firmware 380.63_2, do I need to do anything other than updating the firmware using the UI?
It seems like I do not have any issue with 3341 since it is pre-installed. What is the issue mostly with this Asus version? Thanks.

Hi Guys, need some advice here. My friend's house has 2 88u set as AP. there is one AP place on level 1 while there is another AP place on level 2. The issue is when my Friend is at level 3, the wifi will keep auto discount and sometimes 2 bar or 3 bar. I think the problems lies with the clashing of signal between level 1 & 2. I think the mobile phone can't decide to take level 1 or level 2. Roaming assist is on and the value set is -70dBm.

Open up command prompt. Type ipconfig. Check for Ethernet. Then Default Gateway?

Then re set lol. My router also giving me problems last time so I had to reset it and set it up again to make it work. Anyways after update normally we would do a reset for the router. The set up is easy to do step by step, by firstly going in to 192.168.1.1 and follow the thing step by step.

Anyways regarding my issues last time, I exchanged for another set again. Hopefully this set is stable as I do not want my family to complain, nor do I want to visit the service center again.😂😂😂
