I just bought the AC68U yesterday at $200 to replace my kaput N66U.

I like the design of AC68U than AC88U. Speed wise and reception are good enough for my 4RM HDB flat.
ac68u is also a good model ~ nice buy!

If I was a gamer, I will confirm used wired over wireless LAN. You can say sit nearer to router to get a better signal, but if sit nearer might as well use wired. Haha

hello, if you want wider range coverage, I recommend AC88U.
you can ignore the theoretical Wi-Fi speed on either, our 1Gbps fiber cannot utilize the Wi-Fi speed fully, even if can, there are very little clients that can support such speeds. Main thing that you're buying are mainly the features and the range. AC86U is introduced as a model to replace the ageing AC68U, beefing up the CPU speed and the Wi-Fi speed. For your case, I think AC88U is better

I was able to hit this speed on my desktop through Wi-Fi connected to the AC88 in my room. You tell me how many other routers can do this? I tried Linksys and Netgear, both cant.

On Desktop via Wi-Fi, AC88U @ 5Ghz, 80mhz

On iPhone 7+ Wi-Fi

Hope it helped for your purchase decision ~
Brother, can share your ASUS settings for the ac88u? i see you achieve really remarkable speeds. Maybe like SS the pages? :x tx!

Ugly leh, my parents don’t like. If I can go wired connection, I no need spend near $500 on wifi setup already

I am curious about how you achieved such a good wifi reading.
- Is your desktop or laptop in the same room as your router ?
- What is the desktop CPU speed and the wifi adapter that you are using ?
Hope you can shed some light.

Bro, if my desktop same room as my router, I use wifi for fk? Pull a CAT6 straight Liao.
Desktop is Ryzen 1600X, wireless adapter is asus USB-AC68.

Very simple to get good connection, get a good router and a good wifi receiver can liao, must spend a bit la. I spent $500+ on this setup btw cpu speed got anything to do with wifi speed meh? Not surprising it can hit this speed, given that my AC68U/R7000 can hit 500-600mbps.
