This wifi router 2.4 Ghz and 5 Ghz are known to be problematic since its release in 2016. You are better off to use it as a wired router without its wifi and use separate APs.

If it is under warranty, send for RMA and join those seller at Carousell.
Time to look for new routers.
wtf i just bought not long ago only. less than 4 mths

hi, i just bought this device few months back and also feel tat the 5ghz is weak. I'm linking it up with 86u via aimesh.

As this device is supposedly to be better than 86u, i have set it as the mesh router while 86u as the node. Just to check should i switch the sequence instead for better wifi connection?

There is no such thing as a better Asus router.

Get an enterprise grade access point instead.

you asking me to get this? what for? I wanted to use asus aimesh. Doesn't make sense to use another product. If I wanted, i would have use my d-link 868L.

Hi,

I am using AC88U and connection to Intel(R) Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260
wifi adapter connected at 866Mbp. However the max speed I could get from performing speedtest is as follow

Is there setting that could improve the speed? I am on M1 1 Gbps plan

It's about there already on average. You can probably hit 500 on a good day + test server but it's never gonna reach link speed. You can try to toggle the bandwidth to 80mhz max.

For gaming, you should be more concern about the ping
