does this ac88u need a laptop cooler under it? like the famous ac87u? it seems quite hot at times.

I dont think it needs one but I am using one anyway since I already have one from using the 87u. Might as well use it to provide additional cooling, no harm done.

LOL you also switch from ac87u to this ac88u? so whats your temp with the cooling on? mine without cooling sometimes reaches 78degrees for the cpu. and the top cover is abit hot. especially these few week sg damn hot.

If not keep in enclosed area like DB box I dun think need cooler.

Hi Guys

My router cant connect to 2.4ghz at all,
But can connect to 5ghz,i have do all hard reset n firmware update.isit router issue or isp issue?the strange part is when i connect 2.4ghz my 5ghz is disable,also my 2.4ghz cant be connect too.it show save n secured.anyone can help.

Don't quite understand your problems...can you say it clearly?? its wired connection or WIFI connections...??

Try to forget the 2.4G SSID and reconnect it by entering the password again?

Is wifi connections cant be connect on the 2.4ghz,have try to forget n reconnect also cant .dunno wat happen only can connect 5ghz,lan no issue also.just 2.4ghz wifi cant be connect.

I just got myself an AC88U to upgarde my AC56S but there is still dead zone in my house! I just live in a 4Room HDB so why issit so??

Btw the router is placed in the bedroom and not the living room due to modem and fibre. I already set the channel Bandwidth and control BandWidth to max but still no use? Pls help thanks!

ironically, 88u wireless signal(5GHz) is weaker than 68u. Ttried and tested

why not place it at the center of your flat? maybe at the vent opening of bomb shelter?

As I said the fibre is in the room how am I gonna place the router elsewhere rather than the room?

you need to plan carefully where you need LAN points to be installed, then find a contractor to trunk the cables from your room to every part of your house you deem necessary.

there is no other way you can eliminate dead spots, even if you deploy wifi extender/repeater.

lets assume you successfully eliminate dead spots, but i can assure you that the wifi speed you are getting is only a minute fraction of what ac88u can give.
