How to disable auto update

I own the above router.

When I click Firmware Upgrade page, the router would always go ahead and update the firmware without me asking.

Can This be disable?

i thought you have to manually press the button "check" beside the firmware version..

Didn't know nowadays they have automatically running the script to download liao..

Not sure if this can be disabled.

JK, any comment?

Your router has any overheating issue? Need to place it on a laptop cooler?

Just place in a cool corner and open air environment.

My router is ON 24/7 and have been up for nearly 2 months since the last reboot.

Happen to me twice. I don't even need to click check.

Login web

Click into firmware update page. It would force upgrade for me and say take around 3 mins to complete.

Than lost my internet and I am now on the latest firmware. Knn.

I don't remember old model force upgrade.

This is worst than apple iOS upgrade. Apple at least let u postpone.

Hi I've just received this router today and I think I'm having some problems with the router.
Apparently both my dl and ul speeds are capped at 94mbps on wireless?
I've tried both my desktop computer as well as my iPhone 7 and both speedtest results show 94mbps dl and ul speeds.
I'm using a AC1750 wireless adapter on my desktop.
I've also did a factory reset of the router.
What seems to be the issue here?

Are you connected to the 2.4Ghz band only? Try setting different SSID on both your 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz band and make sure your desktop with the wireless adaptor are connected only to the 5Ghz band and try again...

If it is still 94Mbps, I suspect you had connected AC88U in AP mode to some devices with 100Mbps port...such as an old router...

Will there be any overheating issues if i place the router in an enclosed cabinet without any fan?

Currently using a N56 with no issues.

Thanks

Not ideal. For both heat and Wi-Fi signal related reasons.

Hi

If i connect my routers this way, does it make sense?

Fibre Box > ONT > Asus N56 (Enclosed in cabinet) > Asus AC88 (in bedroom via Lan connection as a AP).

Kindly advise.
Thanks

Yes. Click "Cancel" and dialog box is closed. But I am on an older version so not sure if behaviour has been changed on the newer versions.
