I don't rmb it's normal when I tested out last year..

I first try wan port and port 4,
Viewqwest wan port, singtel port 4

I, then try wan port and port 3
Singtel wan port, viewqwest port 3, port 4 mio tv

Each config was done with a complete router factory reset

Both yield the same results.

Will wan port and port 1 or 2 make a difference?

Hi Renfred...

Many thanks for your response so far.... I am using the RT-AC3200, will AC87U not have the same issue?

in fact, ac87u will have more problems..

nevertheless, i guess its a firmware issue more than a hardware issue for ac3200, in contrary to ac87u..

Hope the guys from Asus will have a look at it....

Simply does not sense that dual wan is much slower than single wan.

I am currently using firmware v3.0.0.4.378.7838 and I know that v3.0.0.4.378.9495 has been released.

However when I login to Asus admin page and click "Check for firmware upgrade" under Administration, it said I have the latest version.

Do I need to reboot the AC-3200 router to update the firmware?
Thanks.

Manually download the firmware and update..... online updates tends not to have the latest firmware.

Hi fishdundee,

Could you please snapshot your RT-AC3200 dual wan setting?
And how did you configure your IPTV? using profile or manually setting?
Thanks.

Hi all...

Recently I signed up for a 2nd 1Gbps line. So now I have a singtel 1gbps and a viewqwest 1 gbps. With the router running either of them, my speedtest was easily 650mbps and above.

When I put them in dual wan mode and in loadbalancing config, strange enough... my speedtest results was reduced to less than 300mbps. Running a few more times yield the same results.

Web surfing also feels much slower with pretty long wait times before it loads. Does anyone have similar experience?

Firmware version 3.0.0.4.378.9459

Many thanks for the attention

I use profile to do the IPTV.

Let me set up this over the weekend again and do a snapshot for you.

I have now separated the 2 lines, Viewqwest on Asus, and Singtel on Aztech.

Can't stand the slowness.

As promised..... here is my setup of the config

below is sketch of my config

With this config... I cant even complete my speedtest... I got this and it stays there without completing the test. I have to refresh my page

http://i263.photobucket.com/albums/i...psyokufobx.png

When in Single Wan mode, the speed test performance is

http://i263.photobucket.com/albums/i...ps74m4nzxb.png

fishdundee 06-02-2016 12:54 AM

config as follows

http://i263.photobucket.com/albums/i...pskyi85jli.png

http://i263.photobucket.com/albums/i...ps9cpdibad.png

Enable routing rules is set to no.

fishdundee 06-02-2016 01:04 AM

When I swapped the singtel line to be in the wan port, and viewqwest to be in Lan3, port 4 miotv due to profile setup...

The performance is pretty similar.... never exceeds 300mbps... web surfing slow, running speedtest hardly completes... it just stays there.

This is not my preferred config. Reason being that when I enable profiling, my gigaset Sip phone will not be able to connect to the public sip server at all. But that's another issue.

I believe this dual wan issue can easily be reproduced inhouse as I did not do anything too special, not capable of it anyway....
