Try changing from WPA2-Personal to WPA-Auto-Personal.

I am using this quiet fan .......small and adjustable leg .... hide below cannot be seen from top view.. .....

For those who not willing to spend more and no space etc .... at least put on this ..... $5 only ...... bring down temp to below 70 ......

Where did you bought it from? If SLS, which shop? Thanks.

Guys, I think this is ridiculous.

If the router needs an additional cooler to be stable, I think Asus should return us the $. Their design should cater for sufficient cooling.

May I know how often u restart your router? I realize now Lan port also a bit cranky

Yes SLS ......... level 5 ....those ABNN shop .....

And it also add cool look to the 87U when in the dark ............. because of the blue light when both fan are running below it ....

Stealth fighter bomber.....

I bought 2... because not sure how long it will last 24x7 .... after all $5 only per pc.....

I have written to viewqwest asking them to change my unit to maybe AC-68 if things doesn't work. Everyone in this forum is very very helpful but I don't think that is how AC-87U should work.

i think, to be fair, viewqwest shouldn't be pulled into this issue because all they did was to offer you a subsidy to purchase ac87u. the issue should only be between you and asus.

I agree... In the first place they do not own the router ... Only an offer to offset 100...

They don't have a 86U to give too..

Since you have the idea, why dont you bring it up to them?

The thing is that things usually dont move when u make a claim publicly, unless you have the evidence to do so.

Thus far, even those who did a modification to the heatsink and has a drop in temperature, is still facing some performance issues.

So its not exactly true that its temperature related.

There are some people who genuinely have faulty products and this complicates the issue.

lets wait for ahduck's update on this..

You can't do that cos they disabled posting on their FB by users. You can only message them.
