You have your house floor plan ?I've a problem with weak wifi signal strength in rooms further away from where the existing Singtel modem is. Will the ASUS RT-AC87U solve my problem?
Just have a discovery ... My Samsung color laser clp315w cannot connect to the 2.4G.
Dear trichard,
Is your printer too far? Possible test set your mobile as hotspot and use your printer to search your mobile SSID.
Sorry i am not good at printer, because i don't print and i use pen to draw or write.

JK
Hi JK. The printer able to pick up the SSID. Password and encryption are correct just that printer won't connect.
The A87U is a AP mode.
Now I connect my printer back to the Dlink 868L which is the main router.
Dear htngwilliam,
Are you using latest firmware on your Sony device?
2.4Ghz or 5Ghz

The fiber point is in my master room and hook up to Dlink 868.Dear trichard,
Why don't put RT-AC87U as main router?

I just bought the ac87u yesterday. When I did a speed test yesterday, I got 20+ Mbps! Compared to my gigabit aztech which end clocked abt 80+, thats very slow. Today, both routers download speed quite similar but still slightly less than aztech, but for upload speed, aztech was faster than asus by abt 20 Mbps. Guess what.. I decided to use the aztech as my main router.. Decided to chuck the asus on the upper floor. Bit disappointing for the asus.

I am putting the 87U to the sitting room so that it can cover the whole house of a 4rm flat.

Hey Guys should I upgrade my firmware? And if I upgrade, I need to reset my router after upgrade?
HiDear trichard,
I would advise you move your fiber point to living room and don't put router in the masterbed room.
It's not good for your health.
Best regard,
JK
Hi
I aware of that ... but it has been 19 years since .. just that all these while I will set the room router power to LOW power and disable WIfi .... hence always need to have a AP at sitting room .
Dear Tiger-in-the-woods,
Please do not use speedtest as real-time benchmark.
Please install latest firmware for RT-AC87U.

Anyway sorry being like grandmother cheer.
Dear all,
We are moving to second phase to test Vlan issue.
Firmware version: 3.00 > 3.01 to 3.0.2*****
