May I ask if one day level 2 CTF + FA will be compatible with miotv?

It seems to be level 2 is kinda useful than level 1, and that I also have miotv. hahas
It's not about MioTV, it's about the VLAN tagging, CTF2 is does not work with VLAN tagging enabled.

Alternatively get a smart switch to do the SingTel VLAN and you can enjoy the CTF2 goodness immediately.

As for MioTV, it's will be using your house coaxial cables (Starhub have to share their network) starting 2nd half next year or who knows SingTel will remove the VLAN tagging totally at that time

Preset for Singtel Fiber like AC 68U?

Guys,
May I know if the AC 87U setup pages come with Singtel Fibre presets installed already just like AC 68U?

Landed , then I suggest you check around your house how well you want your house to be fully connected at which angle, which floor, and whether it is still possible to do structural cabling in your house.

Have you designate a network hub area? If so, you can start thinking of laying structural cabling with at least cat6 to all intended points around the house.

Fibre Termination point -- Router -- GB Switch (if need >4 GB ports) -- structural cabling -- each LAN port -- equipment or Access Point w switch -- equipment via wifi

Or you can do:

Fibre TP -- Asus ac87u/ac68u router -- 5Ghz wireless bridge -- 2nd ac87u/ac68u router in media bridge -- structural cabling -- each LAN port -- ...

Note 5Ghz is degradable with distance and obstacles from the 1st wireless router.

I beg to differ. I manage to restore my 3 units of rt-ac66u configuration backups to the 3 units of rt-ac87r that I imported from US. Been running it for more than a week, no issues at all. Just need to change a few hostname parameters to reflect the rt-ac87r name change and the qos and nat settings if you require.

Yes it does. If you have miotv, CTF2 will not work like what maylyn answered my question a few posts down. The rest should be the same as ac68u..

Yes, the AC87U Quick Internet Setup is the same like AC68U and all ASUS routers SKUs has SingTel Fiber profile.

Before you setup the router, do remember to change the CTF2 (factory default) to CTF1 and apply first (important), before selecting the SIngTel VLAN profile in order for the AC87U to work.

I have tested it pretty extensively (both on my SingTel and Viewqwest Fibee since Merlin and i have gotten our AC87U way before it first appears @ US Best Buy (AC87R). ASUS TW RD has concurred the my findings together with Broadcom.

It's the not MioTV ah .... lol it's the VLAN tag that doesn't allow CTF2 to be used. (there are quite a bit of VLAN structures implementation within the AC87U that might cause of it, so long story short) i do have Mio TV at home and i do away with SingTel VLAN tagging onto my smart switch so i don't need to select SingTel profile on the AC87 as posted on the first page shown here.

None, but you are not able to utilise 4x4 speed but only 3x3 speed.

While the ASUS RT-AC87U is out, ASUS are on their toes on the announced EA-AC87 and AC3200U which are looking promising
