Securifi’s Almond routers, which made their name on Kickstarter, are finally available here in Singapore. We take the flagship Almond+ router out for a spin to see if it lives up to the rave reviews it has received on Amazon.



RATINGS

  • Performance : 6
  • Value : 6

THE GOOD
  • Compact and attractive design
  • Touchscreen interface is genuinely useful
  • Easy to use and setup
  • Good uplink performance
  • Supports ZigBee and Z-Wave, good for home automation

THE BAD
  • Inconsistent downlink performance
  • Lacking basic features like WPS, parental control and QoS
  • Ports are difficult to access
  • Router and sensors are pricey
