Offical brochure states selling price of $459. but yet to see the physical stock.

But based on specs.. doesnt it make more sense to buy AX88 @ $459 ,
since all specs seems to be the same for processor & ram, also
@ 2.4Ghz band, the AX88 gives better performance over AX86

Based on spec:
AX11000 > AX86U > AX82U
AX11000 > AX88U > AX82U

Between AX88U and AX86U, AX88U wins more aspects (more ports and higher 2.4GHz rating) but lose on the 2.5Gbps port.

AX82U actually shares the same CPU as the lower RT-AX58U and the TUF AX3000.
I think such Q is uncommon but is it stated anywhere on whats the height of AX86U and AX88U with its antenna point up?

My TV console gap is abt 18cm so I am not sure if it can fit.

If you are innovative... You can go Sim Lim and buy those custom-made RF cables and connect to the antennas and shift the antennas somewhere else.

One of my friend put the router on the floor behind the piano because the power plug is there and shifted the antennas higher up by means of these extension wires.

For me ... becoz I am looking for flat routers that can be mounter or hanging on wall just like Linksys EA8100 ... so no choice can only look at AX82U type.

If like that AX88 > AX86 liao unless you want that 2.5Ghz ethernet port.

https://forums.hardwarezone.com.sg/i...930834-79.html

I mentioned it on 11 August 2020.

From.Singtel website:
https://www.singtel.com/personal/pro...roadband-plans

This is one of the more flexible plan from SingTel. You get three ONR port for general internet and SingTel TV, and one ONT port for the gaming router (or your own router), two networks, two IP addresses.

*******
We are currently upgrading our router in the 1+1Gbps Fibre Pro Gamer Bundle to give you a better gaming experience! Check this space in September 2020 for updates.
Haha, maybe SingTel will be the launch partner for the new Asus RT-AX86U gaming router in Singapore.

S$17 x 24 =S$408, pretty reasonable price for AX86U.

But I think this is just exclusively for Singtel for a while. It will be available to the general public soon.

The ASUS RT-AX86U will come bundled with Singtel's 1+1Gbps Fibre Pro Gamer Bundle. And for a limited time, new customers can sign up online at singtel.com/gamerbundle at S$64.90 per month (U.P S$69.90). The first 50 subscribers will also receive a free ROG Ranger Backpack.

New and existing Singtel customers can also add their hands on this router by topping up S$17 per month to their existing plans.

Haha, hopefully.

BTW, previously M1 got the 5Gbps/10Gbps plan and offer 10Gbps capable ONT but no longer offered to new customers.

SingTel 10Gbps offers 10Gbps capable ONR with one 10Gbps port and a few 1Gbps ports. But 10Gbps is only a niche. Only left SingTel and SuperInternet still offer consumer 10Gbps plan, after Viewquest also stopped offering the plan.

I totally agree with you, now that 2.5Gbps Ethernet adapter is cheap enough, even for the USB type c version or USB 3 version (I bought from Ugreen). WiFi 6 device will also have higher than 1Gbps speed now if not because of the 1Gbps port limitation of the current 2Gbps plans (or 1+1Gbps plans) from SingTel, Starhub, Viewquest and MyRepublic.

And there are more and more routers with 2.5Gbps WAN port, like Asus GT-AX11000 and RT-AX86U, TP-Link AX6000 and AX11000, Netgear RAX120 and RAX200, so hopefully ISPs will come out 2.5Gbps plan to match.

BTW, Asus RT-AX89X has dual 10G port (Dual 10G ports - 10GBase-T and 10G SFP+).
