windscribe for me.

they now have dedicated Netflix servers for
USA
UK
JP
CA

and all working fine on my mibox and nvidia shield since they have official app that is available on Android TV o/s version of the play store.

if you are using half baked China Android boxes then I don't know already.

Re: Best VPN Provider

Hello,

There is no best all-round VPN out there. I have tried almost every major service provider out there. It depends on what you need a VPN for exactly. I am currently using Ivacy VPN for Streaming Netflix in SG and torrenting. I saved 77% on their 2 Year Plan.

im thinking of getting windscribe to watch US/JPN netflix, but i mainly use my ps4 console to stream, so is configuring the router the only way of setting up? what if i want to switch back to watching sg netflix?

It's easier to get a mibox S for streaming

Can get lifetime Ivacy for usd40 at GDGT

Thinking of getting Ivacy. Found the lifetime subscription (5 years) at USD 36. Seems like a good deal.

Anyone able to post screenshots of the speeds they are getting on Ivacy? Many thanks in advance.

black friday best deal for vpn for ang mo vpn

china vpn double 11 best deal

Seems legit though...

https://deals.gdgt.com/sales/ivacy-vpn-lifetime-subscription-5

With a 10% coupon for new users.

Am more concerned with the speed and performance of the platform.

Also, noticed that they don't have many OpenVPN servers.

https://support.ivacy.com/kb/vpn-servers/

For existing Ivacy users, any concerns over security, since OpenVPN is supposed to be the best?

Please do your research first. A link couple of pages ago which is quite reputable for ranking VPNs list then as the 3rd best overall VPN.

They really don't have loads of openvpn. I use their app usually which does a decent job. What type of security are you worried about? Speed is ok I guess. I can hit my usual 20-30mbps on their torrent server.

Thanks for the info.

Actually for iOS, you can just buy VIP 绿钻 in S$ with in-app-purchases from Apple App Store.

1 month S$2.98
3 months S$6.98
6 months S$12.98
12 months S$25.98

绿钻豪华版
1 months S$4.48
3 months S$9.98
6 months S$17.98
12 months S$38.98

I have not checked Google App Store yet.

Another potential easier way is to use WeChat. Add a Singapore Credit Card to your WeChat account and then you can receive WeChat Ang Bao in RMB. Pay S$ to your friends here in Singapore who has WeChat money and they can send you to Wechat Ang Bao in RMB. I believe you can buy QQ Points using WeChat.

But I have never tried this myself. I am happy with the free Xiami Music.

Xiami Music vip from Apple App Store
1 month S$2.98
3 months S$6.98
6 months S$10.98
12 months S$21.98

For Paid version, I believe QQ Music should be better since it has more songs.

Wanted to buy the QQ Music subscription, but the app says cannot support paid outside of China.

EDIT: ok, the VPN was disconnected when I tried, once I reconnected, the payment went through.

Any idea what the difference is between 付费音乐包vs禄钻豪华版?

EDIT 2: Replying to my own question...

From https://zhidao.baidu.com/question/365246836524081532.html?qbl=relate_question_0

付费音乐包 should be good enough for most overseas users. The extra perks for 绿钻豪华版 are mainly meant for users in China. They are basically the same when it comes to music listening, both allow 300 songs download.

The Baidu article may not be totally correct.

BTW, my old comments about Wechat Pay is no longer true, they start to put restrictions on those accounts without linking to a China bank account. So new sign up no longer can top up. Existing users can still spend whatever they have but may lose the ability to top up any time.

You are welcome. Later I paid for QQ Music 绿钻豪华版 myself for RMB120 one year when they had the promotion, using my WeChat pay, on Android phone.

Thank you for the feedback. Appreciated. So speeds are acceptable.

Looks like a 1Gbps connection will always be an overkill.

With regards to the security query, was checking up on VPN protocols on a few websites.

Almost all say to use OpenVPN and to stay away from PPTP.

Oh the tunnel. Well I can ask the support what they use for their app for you.
