Does anybody use any of these providers: SurfShark, ExpressVPN, NordVPN? Read a lot of positive reviews about them. Thinking about trying out SurfShark as they are a lot cheaper versus the like of ExpressVPN. Their front page is pure designporn. NordVPN seems like a good and cheap option as well. Would like to hear what others think.
what is your main objective of getting a VPN? can't recommend you anything if you don't state this

Anybody tried China Tunnel VPN vs Speedin to access China media content? Still thinking which I should subscribe to.

Seems like speedin connection sometimes not very stable. Page not able to load properly.

Have not managed to test China Tunnel much. Trial expired. But when I tried the 1st time, streaming was very smooth.
Only downside is they do not have pc version. But the price is attractive compared to speedin.

Oh wells...
Better not to commit long subscription to ChinaTunnel VPN yet as it is new. I doubt anyone here has tested it. However the price is not expensive so you can always try first and tell us your experiences.

I believe SpeedIn and Transocks are sanctioned by Chinese government, so they may be more stable at least for now. I doubt that ChinaTunnelVPN has that status.

Edit to add: just take note the servers listed in ChinaTunnelVPN are all outside of mainland China (Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, Los Angeles, San Francisco, etc).

Discussion above.

They have Singapore server so probably that explains why it is faster.

S$2 for a month, S$5 for three months, S$9 for 6 months and S$16 for a year. To me it is worth trying if you are into the geo-blocked contents in China.

I will probably give it a try after the coming year end vacation.

Mainly security and geo-restricted content access.

I almost pulled the trigger on Surfshark as they are offering a great price now with an amazing cause. I noticed that you can donate some money for a foundation called Surfrider which takes care of cleaning the oceans. That seems cool.

Do you have any insight on this provider?

Reviews of the SurfShark seem positive. At US$1.99 promotion price per month for 24months (total US$47.76 for two years), looks like worth to try.

$1.99 sounds reasonable to take the plunge and try..

So I went with surfshark. After seeing them listed as the best newcomer of 2018 in several VPN review sites. That got me interested. Did a bit of research beforehand and found out, that there's a pretty good discount with the Christmas code sharkdiscount.

My brief opinion after using it for a day.

1. Fascinated with the speed. I don't know what they are doing, but my wild guess is that they are that new, so the servers are not overcrowded like on other VPNs.
2. Very helpful customer support. Had a few questions and it was a very pleasant experience.
3. Unlimited devices for 1 user. Seems like a good option for a family or a bigger group.

I hope they keep this quality up as time goes.

I guess that's not clear, sorry. Barely any speed drop. Did a speed test and got almost the same numbers, a very minor drop.

where is the location of the server that you were connected to, encryption level/settings and were you using their desktop app or browser extension when doing the speed test?
