Then you can install the VPN client on your router. That is a very good router with good VPN performance.

Surfshark
https://support.surfshark.com/hc/en-...ith-Surfshark-

Windscribe
https://windscribe.com/guides/asus

For those who do not have a good router with VPN client support, there are other workaround as well.

https://support.purevpn.com/lgsmartt...-configuration

soz last question, should I get wind or surf..
purely for netflix.

and i need to adjust lgtv region settings?

LG TV and VPN are not that easy. What is your router?

https://thevpn.guru/best-lg-smart-tv...-webos-region/
==========
Either set up the VPN connection on your router or use a Smart DNS proxy service. In order to install a VPN on your router, the router itself needs to support VPN. In the case of Smart DNS, youíll have to change the DNS server addresses of your LG Smart TV to those of the Smart DNS proxy service you are subscribed to.
=====

If your router does not support installation of VPN client (better ones do support), then you have very limited choices of VPN which provides Smart DNS Proxies along with the VPN service. The author mentioned two vendors which do that.

In summary the above article mentions three choices if you are not able to install the VPN on your router.
ExpressVPN
BulletVPN
Unlocator (not VPN but Smart DNS Proxies service).

=========_
If youíre looking for a VPN service provider to use with your LG Smart TV, make sure that the provider you end up choosing offers subscribers Smart DNS proxies which can be directly configured via the TVís network settings. ExpressVPN and BulletVPN are both prime examples.

In case you are looking for a Smart DNS proxy service, you can sign up with Unlocator. They offer new users a free 7-day trial and do support unblocking around 200 channels from around the world. You can sign up for a free Unlocator trial without the need for a credit card.
========
Wa I was happy for a moment that I finally donít need to find a router to install VPN just to allow my LG tv to stream Netflix JP and I have expressvpn subscription too.

When I followed the guide till the end to set Tv country/location setting then I realised it doesnít have a lot of countries to choose and sadly japan/us isnít available for selection at all.

Need to choose certain country to be able to stream the Netflix or donít need?

Once again back to square one.
so if my router can put VPN, means can bypass the region at LG TV?

No need. That is for Web OS US apps like Hulu. You already have the Netflix app in your TV.

=====
In other words, you won’t be able to access US apps like HBO, Hulu, or Amazon Prime if you don’t change the TV’s region to the USA first.

Not using Netflix but from the review here both are okay. Windscribe is cheaper so probably you want to get it.

I use the Windscribe free version and it is pretty good.

I believe no need to change regional settings.

Edit to add: it is said that Surfshark now provides Smart DNS, so you may want to consider it.

For Android TV OS based smart TV like Sony, you have native VPN app for the leading vendors.

Updates:
Surfshark is said to support this Smart DNS feature as well.
https://support.surfshark.com/hc/en-...hark-smart-DNS

https://support.surfshark.com/hc/en-...-DNS-for-LG-TV

My old reply here.
https://forums.hardwarezone.com.sg/i...07778-170.html

LG Web OS is not as smart as Android in this aspect.
https://thevpn.guru/best-lg-smart-tv...-webos-region/

So you have a few choices.
1) Use the VPN which provide smart dns
2) Install the VPN on your router
3) Cast from your mobile phone
4) Buy a Mi Box S

Perhaps I try the free Windscribe to 'get the hang of it'

so if 4k content is 10Mbps ( 1.25Mbit/sec )
10G/1.25M = 2.22 hrs

so I'd get to stream like 2 hours per month?

if I don't get windscribe, can I wait for X'mas as I need to test it out?

BTW, if VPN is set on my router. Will surfing/DL speed be affected or I need to disable it. ( i.e turn on VPN when I netflix ? )

Free Windscribe account does not work with Netflix.
https://windscribe.com/features/windflix

4k Netflix is probably about 25Mbps (some say 16Mbps). Not familiar with Netflix myself and not interested in Netflix. I pay for SingTel TV Family Favorite (mainly for kids) and Youku VIP, QQ Music VIP and Xiami Music VIP (mainly Chinese Entertainment).

You can turn on/off the VPN in your router.

Windscribe also offers short free trial.

Surfshark is better for the free trial -- you can try it for 30days.

Donít think it works that easily and I have also checked with expressvpn live chat too.

If no option to choose region anywhere, how would Netflix be able to detect my tv location as Japan for example? Doesnít make sense with just changing dns only.

Does SingTel TV Go even support EPL? Have you tried that while you were in Singapore?

I know Singtel Cast Sports Plus pack supports EPL.

If indeed Singtel TV Go supports EPL, then you may want to contact Surfshark technical support to see if they can help you.

Try the following as well.
1) Check you are indeed connected to a Singapore server.
2) Disable location services.
Yes l can watch my subscribed Singtel tv go channels which include EPL in Singapore. How to disable location services? Thanks

Thanks for the confirmation that SingTel.TV Go can support subscribed SingTel TV channels including EPL..

As for using Singtel TV Go with VPN, you should really contact technical support for this issue.

Location access settings depends on the phone. On my Huawei P20,it is under Settings -- Security and Privacy -- Location Access.

For my iPhone 6S, it is under Settings -- Privacy -- Location Services.

Google does not find good entry to access SingTel TV Go abroad, only one article says ExpressVPN should work. But it seems to me that article lacks substance.
