I turn on ADSL modem only when I need to use it. When the modem connects to ISP, the IP address will be the same for the entire session until I turn it off right? Or the IP address will keep changing during the connection?
for netflix, try googling for stream manager. that option helps to force ms siverlight to use the HD streams even if netflix feels that you connection is not fast enough. always works for me...

for my friend who is using singnet fibre broadband - i have shortlisted unotelly or strongvpn for him to access netflix and hulu.

any bros here can shed some light on the key differences and concerns? it looks like unotelly will be faster...cost wise theres no much difference between the two right.

Yes. But before turn off, it's 1 IP only right? However for Firefox each time launch, same ADSL connection, need to update IP again at UnoTelly webpage.

Could it be due to your isp's transparent proxy? By right usually an ADSL ip address lease is valid for quite a while (at least a few days) before being forced to renew, unless u off your modem. Since your ISP has a pool of ip addresses used for proxies, u might be using a different ip address when u close and launch your browser again.

I think a good way to get your real ipaddress is to login to your router and beo. Those whatismyip usually just throw back your proxy ip address. And also in GENERAL terms ipaddresses starting with 10, 172 or 192 are private ip addresses and is not your real ip. So if u cmd and ipconfig and see your ipv4 address starting with 192.168, wrong also.

Hi

Whats good for BBC two Iplayer

I am on Starhub Fibre Maxinfinity Ultimate 100MBPS plan.

I kinda need to watch this for the next two weeks

BBC Two - The Real White Queen and Her Rivals, Episode 1

I want to use get_iplayer and rmtpdump to record the stream down cause waking up at 4am Singapore time to catch it for two weeks is gonna be hell.

If using UnoTelly can I cancel and resubscribe as an when I want to watch a certain show on BBC Iplayer?

Thanks in advance for letting me know what to get .
