Corporate Fibre Plans - Recommendations and Reliability

Hi guys,

I was dumb enough to sign up for ViewQwest's corporate plan a while back. They charge about S$120 for 200Mbps, and instead of the corporate SLA uptime guarantee, the stupid plan has only "best efforts". Not too sure what benefits we get over residential, don't see any difference and paying almost 3x the price for 1/5 the speed.

I noticed that they have major disruptions to their connectivity during business hours very often, as compared to my previous experience with M1 (corporate) and Starhub (residential). There seems to be no redundancy whatsoever. As my office phones use VOIP, this is quite unacceptable.

Looking for recommendations as to which ISP has good corporate plans. Looking for good value + SLA uptime + actual reliability in terms of uptime during business hours (assuming no SLA uptime).

Thanks a lot for the help!

Singapore residential broadband apart from viewquest seems to be quite reliable. Unless you need multiple IP addresses or assured bandwidth you can still consider residential plans. You may want to consider having a backup internet connection either by another ISP or 4G

Unfortunately I don't think I can get residential plans for an office... do you have the exact fees for the corporate fibre plans?

Thanks. Looks like only MyRepublic and M1 have the 99.95% SLA.

MyRepublic's fees are not advertised - had to call them - $118 for 300Mbps. Whereas for M1's is $138 for 300Mbps - both are at 2yr contracts.

True. Business plan is expensive even for small shops you need to use business plan. I know of some neighbourhood shops seem to share the wireless access and share the payment.

BTW if you just needed NETS terminal you do not need broadband access — a business telephone line will do.

I tried View quest before. It is like driving a ferrari that breaks down frequently.

After that tried M1. More like a reliable continental car. Reliable yet fast.
