Thanks for the enlightenment... sounds really messy.
So the main area with TV needs 2 separate network point? O_O

If my assumption is not wrong, PCs in the other rooms with TV can only use Wifi (from the main router) if there is only one network point (that must be used for TV)? If so that's a really inelegant solution.

Does that also mean Starhub users must now use Starhub routers (like Singtel long ago before routers like Asus that supports vlan settings appeared)?
this was what xiaofan posted some time back :

I never understand why Starhub choose to implement their FibreTV in this manner. It sounds oxymoronic to me.

Is there any inherent technical advantage for Starhub's implementation as opposed to what Singtel is implementing? Or does Starhub's legacy infrastructure network restrict them to implement it in this way.
=============================

One apparent advantage is for StarHub Fibre Internet— no need Vlan for Internet, unlike SingTel. SingTel has to provide lousy vlan enabled router and now move to ONR because of this. Power users often avoid SingTel as the broadband ISP because of ONR.

And for StarHub, I think Fibre TV was a second thought, not like Cable TV. They were probably thinking of using Fibre Broadband and Cable TV combination to compete with SingTel.

Finally after being put on hold for 2 months.
Almost there...
(Contract sign already so only can LLST)

Starhub service really sucks.
Feels like everything subcontract then cannot coordinate.

Look like Starhub is doing a lot of traffic shaping and controlling my internet bandwidth.

Earlier i checked and got 1Gbps on fast.com but last night suddenly drop to 500 to 600. I guess Starhub throttling my network.

I kiasu and port over before the 30 June to realized they extended it, mafan sia.

Else I'd had not do anything and kept with the old cable modem, no need install anything at all.

Now switch to fibre but I still using cable, nowadays starhub usually 8-10pm+/- quite slow
