Free starhub fibre broadband 1GB for 24 months with fibre TV.

Hi I just received letter, do anyone got that letter too?

I just received my starhub cable TV bill for S$65 as just finished 2 years contract every month pay S$50. Come with 3 basic tier plus with HD extra one set top box, I think last 2 years should have S$10 TV off monthly and HD for S$4 50% off exclude GST.

I have a free 1 port as port 2 is using M1 500 mbps broadband.

Can have 1 Free data point installation for S$107, but I have a problem.

My flat is very big like 5A jumbo, got two living room, so if using Fibre TV need to lay extra data point for first set top box near to TV. For the second set top box, which is in the master bedroom, if lay additional data point is very messy and very long distance to ONT, can use powerline like a pair of TP link 1GBPS for S$89 selling in challenger like hachi.tech online web site stated, have any issue using power point instead of DATA point for Fiber TV?

Also got free Linksys AC1900 wireless router throw in. Plus S$10 Fiber TV off monthly and 50% HD for S$4 exclude GST for 24 months.

Able to ask starhub give me free TP link a pair powerline 1GBPS with pass through and free Data point installation when I call tomorrow 1630?

This type of offer is send to selected customers which i did have a similar, refer bottom.

Usual case for new broadband sign-up there have 1 Free data point installation.

I see you have selected the correct TP Link powerline.
You can refer to this matter on this link, posted by @WinstonK at 08-04-2016 08:34 AM;

I have doubt they could provide you free, but it is worth a try.

For multiple set top box, refer to link;

http://www.starhub.com/personal/for-...t-top-box.html

IPTV subscription is slightly different from Cable HubStation Set top box.

For more details on IPTV matter please do refer to this link;

https://community.starhub.com/t5/Hom...p/150320#M1340

Finally do note that Starhub ONT is preset Port-1 for internet and Port-2 for IPTV.
For ports 3 & 4 are null.

----------

They offer me is HomeHub 1000 at $49.90 with Free IPTV in Oct 2017.
Previous contract was on HomeHub 500 with Cable TV.
As it will be for my new BTO HDB flat, i request and have a wavier of 1 Free data point installation for S$107.
But instead the contractor did is to convert telephone point to data point.

I called 1630, but waited for 2 hours as call transfer to general enquiry to leave my contact number but no one call me back as there is no sales consultant on the phone. So left a feedback online at www.starhub.com

I think Singtel MIOTV have better setup as IPTV and internet is together in one port in ONT and ONR but need to use Singtel wireless router provided or third party router to configure if can support. But too bad they prefer Starhub TV the MIOTV.

Fibre TV is quite complex to setup with broadband for Starhub.

Turn out like powerline not stable as there is a lot of people saying it using after some time in internet by google.

But master bedroom only have one lan point installed to FP. So pc die die have to buy USB external wifi adaptor like S$59 Dlink AC round one from online hachi tech or challenger.

Then I use the free Data point installation to lay from FP to TV about 15 meters in living room.

Any comments?

Did you stated clearly that there is Letter on the offer on recontract to Fibre broadband with IPTV.
Also did you provide subscriber details as this will be easier for them to check and verify.

Now after 9pm the sales still haven't call back.

Viewqwest already cannot make it for customer service, I think starhub also the same now.

If like that might as well recon back cable tv for another 2 years till end of life in 2020 like ADSL in April this year. As Fibre TV setup is very messy and complicated compare to cable TV now. Forgo the messy first data point installation for first set top box cost S$107, free Linksys AC1900 wireless router and 1GB fibre broadband for 24 months.

As now contract just over last month pay S$65 instead of S$50 for 2 years for 2 set top boxes, 3 basic tier plus and Basic HD upsize.

I ask them can I go down starhub shop to do cable TV recon to fibre TV, tell me sales will call me back.

Did a search and this thread came up.

Just received a call from starhub. He said my setup box for TV must be changed to digital set up box. I will continue to pay $24 per month for TV (same as what I'm paying now). In addition they will give me 1 Gpbs fibre & modem free for 2 years. After 2 years I can decide to stay with Starhub or disconnect. If I decide to disconnect I can still keep the modem. Currently I'm with M1 1 Gpbs fibre contract for 2 years with 17 months outstanding.

Anybody knows what is the catch here?

In order to subscribe to Starhub iptv, you will need to subscribe to Starhub fibre. Just that simple.
