HELP NEEDED! Asus RT-AC 1300UHP Wireless AC1300 router

I purchased it at challenger today and when I got home and set it up, the router name is 'Koh's_Family'.

How can a newly purchased wifi have a non default name? I can't even log in to configure as the default password is wrong!
Any idea how to reset the whole router to default?

Btw I checked my default router by Singtel. There is an additional wire plugged into a port named phone 1. Where shld the wire be plugged into on the Asus router? I can find any port named 'phone'.

Thanks everyone!

It's sounds like a returned unit that challenger decide to sell as new and didn't even bother to reset it...

you have to call singtel to switch the digital line to ONT level. this can be done over the phone..

to reset the router, you need to power on it first and wait for it to fully boot into steady light, then press the reset button behind and wait for the power LED to flash, then release.

If you believe its not new, bring it back to the place you bought from..

Challenger cannot sell an used product as new, like this. they have to declare before doing the transaction, like all their refurbished products and demo units.

Best is to return it to the Challenger shop with the receipt.

Most likely it could be a faulty set that was returned for 1 to 1 replacement.

Restart already. Do I need to call singtel to do additional settings?

Refer to post by Renfred.

And at the same time ask them to check your connection at their end.

Should Singtel say that your connection is fine as no issue.

Suggest to return the router to Challenger as this is not the first time incident as there was reported customer was given a faulty product, accidentally.
That is some of their staff are not of the same dept in-charge and so would have taken the wrong product which could meant for replacement.

I Guess you haven’t applied vlan profile yet.

Further more, your router cannot be plugged behind the singtel router. Your digital line should plug into ont, then from ont to your Asus router and apply the vlan profile..

Ok thanks will do that.

How to apply the vlan profile?

I'm stuck at the checking connection part. It tells me to power off the singtel modem and on again. After doing that its stuck at checking connection..

Reset your router first, then set up as per normal and skip the quick internet set up.

Navigate to lan on the side then choose iptv then select singtel-others.
