Seeking tips from gurus here
PC running on i5 with Win7 Ultimate...
After removing Avast anti virus sw, my PC internet connection went kaput

I tried wired connection n wireless but still cannot.
No error message; nothing

I suspect maybe due to virus or some malware corrupting some system files.
Maybe it could be mobo....I bought USB wireless adaptor also cannot detect but ext hdd can.

Thinking of reformat and reinstalling windows from scratch.

considering that you suspect it might be software that caused this issue :

check your system if you received an IP address from ur dhcp server. check your adapter if any program or yourself might have set your address on static. check your web browser if it's on local proxy. do a ping test out to google or something , see if u can send and receive. if everything pass and no misconfigured , there's no valid reason , technically , for your internet to fail , considering your's is a home environment.

( some program somewhat somehow adds persistent route into your system , just to be sure , run cmd > route print. look at the "persistent route" list . make sure it is "none" )
