How to create a network HDD?

I've a PC, laptop, some mobile phones.

Is it possible to create an internal network to access the data with a HDD that I can connect wirelessly and with security password?

Also is it possible to backup this HDD with another HDD that actively copy all data?

Will that be hard to set up?

Possible. This is an example of a simple file sharing. Use your pc as a 24/7 server and connect the hdd to your pc via USB 3.0. Share the folder that u wish to share with your mobile phones on the hard disk. Set user password and that's it.

As for backing up to another disk, u can do it manually or use some software like time machine backup(Apple only) etc.

Or u can do the above with a 2 or 4 bay Nas with all the necessary apps for u to do what u want

Get yourself a 2 bay synology and configure raid mirroring. So you data is auto sync between 2 HDD (same size). So when 1 drive fail you wouldn't lost your data.

You can install the windows agent and configure the agent to sync file from your PC to the NAS

It will be safer to keep the data in portable HDDs (lock up when not required) and not in your network. For safety recently i do not keep data in my computer and network.

Ideally, it should be wired for best results and most NAS don't come with built in WiFi.

You sure you want to put SSD ? The writes will kill it faster than HDD.
