Hypothetical question on internet latency

Server A in Australia has the information and I want to fetch it to Server B which is based in Africa.

Let say server B cannot directly get the information from server A and I need server C to get the information from A and give it to B.

Will the latency differ if I place the server in Australia vs Africa?

Latency will be affected by distance if that is your question.

More server = more HOPS so increase in Latency.

Example:

Server A to B now 10 hops if they talk directly

Now Server A to C 8 hops, Server C to B another 10 hops. (total 18 Hops)
