M1 Broadband: Asus or Linksys Mesh ?

I am going to recontract, is the deal of $10 more a month worth it?

which mesh is better?

1) ASUS ZenWIFI AC (Mesh AC3000)
2) Linksys Velop

or better off buying other brands with the $240 ?

If i remember correctly the $10 Velop is dual band and Zenwifi AC is tri band. So i got my friend to get Zenwifi instead.

Just to add on $240 for Zenwifi (tri band) is a good deal.

If comparing triband zen WiFi vs dual band velop, then zen WiFi definitely.

If you say wifi 6, maybe better but is it worth the $400 premium for slightly better or negligible differences? I don’t think so.

What I also like about the ZenWiFi is that it allows you to have separate names for the 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz networks (you can also combine them into a single SSID if you wish). I could not do this on my previous Orbi mesh, neither is it possible on Google mesh. Not sure about the Velop.

One of my home cams (which only supports 2.4Ghz) refused to connect to my Orbi. Problem solved when I changed to the ZenWiFi as I can now "force" the cam to connect to the 2.4Ghz network which had its own name (SSID).

but funny thing is, after I plug my lan out from my old router and plug into the new Zenwifi, no internet could be established for around 15mins..initially I thot the Zenwifi spoilt..how come like that one huh ?
