So does that mean if I wanna apply for Whizcomm as a new user, I shd remind them not to assign me 156.xx IP address on the safe side? Can we request for that?
The whole problem is that its automatically assigned since its a dynamic public IP and they have no control over what IP you are getting. To be on the safe side, if you are an active Netflix user, either don't jump ship to whizcomms first (till this problem gets resolved) or just go to another ISP.

I have emailed Whizcomms and they agree that if this issue is not resolved within 2 weeks. I am able to terminate my 1 month old contract.

Just hope it can resolved asap as changing ISPs is PITA....

Considering their reply for evirob's case, highly unlikely.

Just an update, it's still on 156.XXX no matter how many times I power cycled. Also did as they instructed to switch off for more than 6 hours.

However, Netflix and ironically Toggle fails. The latter showing "Geo Block" the content is not available in your location.

Kind of sick and tired to keep powering off and on. Don't think they'll ever resolved this. I've just emailed them to terminate the contract. Hopefully it'll be a painless process

Netflix is the one that blocks you. Why support them ?

I do believe they offer origin content compared to other....(not sure what they are called)
As for ISP, they have basically the same offering. So it’s easy to see which has higher priority

Erm, they can't even do Toggle which shows the error "Geo Block". I did not apply for the digital antenna hence consume TV by Apps.

In addition to that, Netflix is blocking a proxy used by their IP supplier. Not the specific IP address.

Anyway, Whizcomms have agreed to terminate the contract. Gonna shop for a new ISP.....

Whizcomms have allowed me to terminate. To be honest, I'm sad to go as I would like to support small local enterprises.

I must say I'm very happy with their speedy response and service. If I'm not a Netflix or Toggle user, would definitely be still with them.

Since you are looking for broadband isp, I would strongly advise you to avoid Starhub.
I a current user now. I have moved out all my mobile plans with them. Next to go is fibre.
Here is a summary
- CSO super duper robotic
- they are not a accommodating as Whizcomms.
- their replies are like parrots, repeating and repeating and repeating
- their DNS server is super problematic, for the past 2 contracts, internet issue due to dns is always the no. 1 culprit. Surprisingly this year very smooth.

Have fun hunting new ISP .
Good Luck

Netflix works for me, will try out Toggle tonight.

Agree on their response and service, so far so good.

Been with Whizcomms for 21 mths, planning to recontracting in Mar 2020.

I am looking to sign a new ISP and came across whizcom, a bit surprised to hear the stories of recent issue with netflix and the sub-standard customer service and backend team.. But I am looking for a simple no-frill 500mbps plan only and whizcom seemed to be most value for money..

Any updates on the netflix issue since? Any other issue from users?

Also, if sign up online, how soon can whizcom install the BB service?
