started using the xiaomi router alr

amazing part abt it:
good reception coverage despite no antennas sticking out
syncs with xiaomi android box... the box can read the contents in the HDD in the router
configurations done on a smartphone.... theres android / iOS app for it
of coz.... the price is simply INSANE

downside (not for me though):
all UI / interface is in simplified chinese..... cannot switch language

Received mine today after placing order via Taobao last fri.

Its surprisingly quiet and smaller than expected. Looks a lot like the WD My Cloud.

Likewise, my biggest issue is that the UI is all in chinese (which i'm definitely not good)

Wireless coverage is good.

Are there any built-it torrent applications? I liked my old Synology cos there was good apps including a very fast download manager into the NAS.

Will play around with it for awhile before letting it go. Cant use it permanently as i'm still relying on the Dlink gateway with digital voice.

Not sure which model you are referring to? If only 100Mbps then for those who paid for 200Mbps subscription, it will be wasted as ONT to Router only max at 100Mbps only.

Another worry part for Chinese product is firmware bug fix and customized for local teleco environment.

Setting up this router is easy only if you understand Chinese.
Pros
- Wireless strength for me is very good liao. Can reach 10meters away with 3 thick wall speedtest DL is 25mbps and upload is abt 4mbps using 2.4GHz
- File transfer is easy as well download the apps, open apps click and copy.
- The mobile apps also very easy to use.
- When the router restart u still have your wireless connection up but just can't access internet until the router successfully reboot / stablize.

Cons:
- Now only SSID die die 1 Meaning 2.4Ghz is 1 SSID and 5Ghz is 1 SSID, U cannot have more SSID liao.
- HDD works but think got bug, I have successfully transfer about 6.75gb file wireless to this router in about 30mins but the internet die on me. Need to restart the router. To have internet back.
- Apps works for mobile but not on my mac. Tried using the apps to download movie with the free VIP pass download halfway internet dc liao. I suspect dc of internet is due to huge file transferring Xiaomi engineers please verify if my initial finding is correct.

Only have all these at the moment. No time to play liao. But i suspect the router will on and off dc from internet lol cause I have alot of photos to backup.

Btw is it can't be 100mbps. I did a speed test using Ethernet cable speed went up to 150mbps
